help on a p1sc

i have a friend of mine that is trying to sell me a p1sc system. headunit was satin now polished by hand. they polished off the info plate comes with a sbf bracket, pulleys, tensioner, belt, intercooler, and piping. unfortunaley it was all for is 89 fox body. is there a way to make sure it is a p1sc and not like a p600 or a d1sc or a p1?? also does procharger sell just the brackets for the fbodies?? i realize it would have to be changed lol but the headunits are the same correct??? thanks-tj

Re: help on a p1sc

Procharger does sell just the bracket. I think the head unit will work but just might have to change the clocking. The 600 has oil lines, if no oil line then its a P1sc or D1sc. Email procharger the number on the housing and they will let you know what it will work on. I have peiced mine together.

Re: help on a p1sc

He says the plate is no longer on the unit. This will be hard to tell what actual unit it is. Like 85 roc it said, if it doesnt have oil lines, then it is self contained and is ast least a p1sc. You will most likely have to reclock it with a sbc bracket. I believe the brackets run around 600 bucks alone. you will also need the pullies and the belt. Expect to spend at least a grand for all the remaining parts.

Re: help on a p1sc

Hmmm yeah the plate was replaced with a plaque that says Akron horsepower, but the procharger is still embossed in the housing. And wow that's a lot for the extra parts.. He wants 1500 for what he has.. I'll figure out how to post pics and you can tell me what it has and not have

Re: help on a p1sc

My F1A procharger kit ran me 3500 dollars. Consider what your cost would be. Would it be worth it to throw out a few hundred more dollars and get a complete kit thats made for your engine? I forgot about the BOV as well. I know the big red model that I run is 400 alone. Don't forget you will also need the intake piping to your throttle body with the silicone adapters as well. Everything adds up.

Re: help on a p1sc

TraviZ, was that 3500 including the Procharger Unit? Or just the brackets and such?

If so, me finding a P1SC kit for around 2500 isn't out of reason is it?

Re: help on a p1sc

3500 got me everything in their basic package. Head unit, brackets, BoV, pullies, belt and some piping. I had to purchase my own J bend pipe and silicone hoses. I also later purchased prochargers power steering bracket to run a gen 2 pump.

Re: help on a p1sc

lol at ati being procharger.. and like you said another grand in extra parts.. is this reallly worth it? i also was told obd1 wasnt good enough to run the procharger on. i know you all do it with megasquirt and a 730 ecm but how about holley efi? 1500 for that comp and wiring system stuffs getting pricey now.

how much are you asking? p1sc d1sc? whats the specs

I run Holley EFI, it has wideband and a 2 bar map sensor. Perfect for any forced induction.

After seeing the pictures, that's definitely a P1SC.

If you don't mind me asking, where did you get your kit? I'm getting quoted significantly more than that for the basic D1SC kit from a few dealers. Would prefer an F1A or F1C, and am starting to consider a Vortech V7-YSi based on cost even though I would prefer self-contained lubrication. Any assistance would really be appreciated.

Thanks, and sorry for hijacking the thread.
