Boosting my 83 Sport Coupe 355... With aftermarket TBI type setup... or?
Just curious... I haven't seen many builds on here which use the simpler throttle body type EFI setups. I need some examples to go on. I DID see a 68 Camaro running a holley throttle body setup with a transverse mount SC, but haven't seen a turbo 3rd gen using one.
I plan on scrounging together a setup using either single turbo manifolds from ebay or just buying a cheap twin turbo kit and trying my luck boosting my motor at 9 or 10 psi.
My car has a 76 GM target motor that was bored .30 over on a fairly stock rebuild. It is a 300hp replacement engine for a 60s Corvette with less than 10k on it now. Stock crank, stock internals for the most part. I would consider rebuilding my bottom end and doing lower compression heads, but I would be happy with a 400-450 horse car.
My rear end is built, as is my T5 as best as possible, but I should probably do a T56 while I am at it if possible.
My friend who runs an Audi speed shop won't let me live down not having a boosted car, so I am in good hands... Does this plan seem at all logical?
I am going to grab a 84 Z-28 style bumper off a parts car at this said shop, and modify it to house the intercooler/s and oil cooler, as not to wreck my current bumper, and also do bigger brakes up front...

You should build a 383 stroker on the side, then swap it in when finished and sell your current engine. Then your friend wont be able to live down 450hp NA
