Need someone with experience.
I have found a turbo I want to use for a remote setup. It is an T3 .63 with an internal waste gate. I have been reading up on the characteristics the turbo needs, but I'm not sure if this will work. I am running a completely stock 350 TPI, which was rebuilt a month ago. My goals are to be able to match/come close to the ratings of a 4th Gen.
These are the specs on the turbo:
INLET: 3"
OUTLET: 2"
BEARING TYPE: WETFLOAT BEARINGS
OIL INLET: 1/8 NPT
MAX PSI CAPACITY: 25PSI
COMPRESSOR: .48 AR COMPRESSOR
TURBINE: .63 AR TURBINE
COMPRESSOR WHEEL DIAMETER: 54.28 / 71.32
TURBINE WHEEL DIAMETER: 55.79 / 63.63
FLANGE TYPE:T3 FLANGE
DOWN PIPE FLANGE TYPE: 2.5 V Band
MAX HP: 350HP
COOLING TYPE: OIL COOL ONLY
ACTUATOR SETTING: 8 PSI

Umm, All I can really give you is from experiance. My first setup was a remote setup with a single T3/T4 and it didnt go so well. EVERYTHING was hooked up correctly, and sounded great at first, blew me down the street etc....After about 8 miles on the turbo, it pretty much blew out. Was leaking oil into the intake and exhaust side. I caled the company was told it was too small to run on all 8 cylind's and I needed 1 per exhaust side...so 1 per 4 cylindars.......hope that helps a lil.

Darn, don't enjoy hearing that, but the advice is appreciated. I might try to install it before the pipes merge into one if that is the case. How much boost where you running?

If you install before they merge, then you wont get the same prblem, or run 2 diff pipes and run just one into the turbo.....from my understanding, your doing a remote mount? Correct me if Im wrong, but if you are I can give you several pointers.....About the boost...It was only running 8psi, BUT the amount of boost you run isnt going to determine if the exhaust blows your turbo, regardless having 8 cylindars goin into a T3/t4 is just double what it was made for...6 is ok at best, but really pushing it.

Yep, I am doing a remote mount. I just don't have a clue on these engines with turbos, it escapes me. So, I could run this if I ran a true dual exhaust? What did you do to fix your problem. I don't have the turbo yet, so getting one that meets my needs seems the simplest route. I toyed with the idea of using one off a junked 81 turbo T/A, but I can't find any information on it.
