Brakes for boosted applications
What are all you boosted guys doing about brakes? Hydrobooste or what?
I know cobras and stuff have hydrobooste. But then I also know guys running F1s on big blocks that just run normal brakes, with MAYBE a resivoir. Seems like this would only let you have one or two really good pumps if you are making booste.
Am I right?

True, but it's unlikely you're deep enough in the throttle to be making boost AND be pumping on the brake pedal at the same time. As soon as you let off the throttle the manifold goes back into vacuum and refills the reservoir nearly instantaneously.

Re: Brakes for boosted applications
I am sadly still on stock brakes up front and i have the C5 kit just sitting here. No problems on boost. Only time I am on the brakes and have boost is during the burnout, but i hit the brakes before i start the boost, so no problems

Re: Brakes for boosted applications
All great info. Thanks guys. I will stick with my standard C5 brakes and see how they go. Dump more $ into the SC!

Re: Brakes for boosted applications
Im running a stock master/vaccum booster with LS1 front brakes and 91+/LT1 rear brakes
Works great! HUGE improvement over the stock 10.25 rotors, those were scary with my lumpy N/A setup!

Re: Brakes for boosted applications
Drove my buddy's 92 with an F1A just last weekend, it has stock booster/master and stock front calipers with LS1 rears. The brakes worked fine, plenty of power assist.
