Re: single turbo manifold

Would be a sweet setup. what is the maximum boost out of curiosity on a fresh built 350 (I rebuilt it to standard setup) I think i heard 5-7 on a single turbo setup. does that sound right? Thats on standard rods and pistons.

But i dont believe its an indication of what everyone with any motor can achieve... I still think that guy got alittle lucky. Tune is one thing but parts can only hold so much

It's actually just a backup in case the fuel pump relay fails. If your fp relay works you can unplug that sensor and the engine will still run. If the fp relay fails that sensor will turn the pump on as soon as it sees pressure.

I dunno, he did a big block too, and others have done it. All Chevy as far as I know. I have heard that cast is actually stronger than forged, but forged handles detonation and rpms better. Cast is brittle and hard, forged is softer and more flexible, right? Kinda like drag gears I guess? Keep the rpms low, try to reduce harsh combustion, no detonation. I dunno, thats a whole thread in its own.

He ran that car for like 3 years, but did break a ring. More gap would've fixed that.

Re: single turbo manifold

Forged is stronger than cast across the board. Higher tensile strength, toughness, etc...Cast is NOT stronger than forged. Forged has a directional grain structure while cast is completely random.

Just to correct any bad info you recieved. Not trying to be a douche.

Well ok, I read that somewhere that was believed to be a reliable source, but I don't remember where.

its 110% in the tune look how much dyno time he has spent tunning.. IN the thread he did mention he seen cap/crank walk. So he just snugged em up a little bit more.

Keep it out of detonation and dont spin the motor too 8k and everything should be fine. Your gradually bringing up boost so Its not gonna be that hard as an initial 300hit of nitrous or anything.

anyway its deff. a good post for everyone to read . Like you said NOT EVERYONE will get those results but no reason anyone cany get over 4--500 rwhp on a l98 with a good tune and boost.

Yea, as long as they actually know what they're doing.
