procharger belt tension
i routed belt over the pulley instead of under the pulley i the belt had alot more tension, i got another 2psi of boost out of it this way. my question is this ok to route it this way or is it better to route it under the pulley here is a pic over the pulley.

Re: procharger belt tension
Since its not a ribbed pulley I wonder how the ribbs on the belt will look after some driving................ If you swapped to a ribbed pulley I see no problems with it if it works...........

Re: procharger belt tension
Usually I'd say you want it under the pulley so that you get more wrap on the blower pulley, but since I know how bad the tensioning system sucks, I'd say go with what works. If you want to continue running it that way, ProCharger has an inside idler that you could replace the smooth idler with for $86. It's part# DC003A-014.

Re: procharger belt tension
is that smoother pulley a ribbed pulley? or does procharger make a bigger idler pulley to get more tension?

Re: procharger belt tension
Sorry, but I couldn't help but notice how far off center your hotchkis strut tower brace is. I know this doesn't belong here but I couldn't help it.

90 if you read the manuel it says" supplied belt should go around crank pulley with the BOTTOM loop of the belt riding ON TOP OF THE ADJ. AND FIXED pulley so u had it wrond before and have it right now

This text ref. to the lower fixed pulley, so you had it correct before.

Re: procharger belt tension
Hey boss, same exact set up I have on a Ram Jet motor. Tensioner pushing down is right way, I had a dude install mine and he didn't put it on the idle pulley by the crank and ran it straight up. I'm running 10 lbs of boost on mine..watch how tight you tighten the belt but you maybe ok, I just broke the front pulley off mine going to Ohio(Carey) from Maryland...70mph at 2400rpm, snapped it right off to the timing chain...my crank was cast I believe....the tensioner would be something to look into so the pull isn't to great...steel is the right crank needed
Procharger said that the belt sould be 65% around the main pulley (crank)
...Question what size is your belt??? Also is your charger noisy
untill you get throttle on it...mine quited down after changing the oil after 500-600 miles
