Re: My article in GM High Tech
thats interesting, most of the tracks i know of require a roll bar for 11.49 or faster, street car nights or not. I think its good safety to have one for something that fast, especially a unibody car. that turbo torque got to be rough on the car

Extremely cool Tim, congrats on the magazine spot.
I endeavor to build one just like it.
What's that, close to 700HP on a stock crank, basic entry level mods, small intercooler, small turbo etc? You're an inspiration.

Re: My article in GM High Tech
Thanks guys. Yeah, i do get some trouble sometimes for not having a roll cage, but i really dont want one. My car is a street driven car and i dont want to have to crawl over a bar every time i go somewhere with it. Plus i dont want to cut up my interior. And the subframe connectors seem to be doing fine alone, no door misalignment or anything like that yet.

Re: My article in GM High Tech
Wow, only seven PROM burns to get it right. Experienced guys at the DIY PROM board have over a hundred burns and still can't get it right. What tables did ya change? The 10sec times are good. Have you tried running it on 93 octane at the track?

[quote= subframes are fine and most turbo cars leave like a baby off the footbrake compared to nitrous cars until full boost is reached.
----------
I have a 3500 stall and mine leaves fairly violent off the footbrake, and haven't even tried it with my turbos but im willin to bet im gonna be makin some boost at 3 grand

If I'm not mistaken, the turbo header is from BBSDesigns. The downpipe and crossover were fabbed by a reputable shop near him.

Yep, bone stock gears and limited slip. Just a TA cover to help hold it together. And keep in mind that the car has 180,000 miles on it, including the rear end. So dont jump to the conclusion that 10 bolts are junk cause i cant complain about mine.

Re: My article in GM High Tech
sweet!!! my aunt works for a magazine/card store in town and when i heard your car was in it i went to get it but they pulled it off the shelves and the magazine guy got there 20 minutes before i did and took them. i drove around town for half an hour looking for him, i was going to ransack his truck!
anyway,, great ride, great article! one question- how did you run your intercooler piping? down through the battery tray or between the headlamps/radiator? i've got my bbs header and a turbo(ebay china knockoff) and stockpiling parts from ebay hoping to get it together in april!
i'm about 1hr from chicago(south bend area) maybe sometime i'll run into ya

Dude, Your car is a true inspiration to me. Being a Sgt in the Marine Corps i don't get paid much so all of my upgrades to my car have been budget minded. I hope I can get mine running to your level in the next couple years. So for now I'll stay with the laughing gas
till I scrape up enough to turbo mine too.

Nice write up... I'm partial to white cars anyhow ![Smilie](https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
It said your running a Sy/Ty ECM... And your having to burn new chips for a tune. Did you know about Code 59? If you use Ostritch or Burn1 Like i've got in my wife's Typhoon you can Real-time tune and datalog with Code 59 using a Wideband O2. It'd sure make tuning easier and quicker than logging and burning a new chip. You'd use "Tuner Pro" to tune with.
Just a Idea if your not using it already.
I'm using a GN engine in my 86 Camaro.
I about fell over when I read that a turbo car won't leave hard on the foot brake... Oh man... that's funny.
