What heads for SC?

What heads for SC?
Originally I was going to go NA on my 305 with some vortec heads and an LT1 cam. I think what I really should do is get a Holley or Weiand underhood roots blower with a 750 cfm carb and be done with it.
Would that work out ok on stock lo3 heads, or should I get some diff heads? Stock cam prolly best on a blower?
Car is a 91 RS with TBI, but I don't have emissions testing so I can go carb and ditch the FI.

Re: What heads for SC?
Stock LO3 heads would be a massive restriction with a blower, i'd recommend ditching those before dropping the money on a blower actually.
And no, the cam sucks no matter what, another thing i'd toss.

What kind of heads would you recomend? I can't use the vortecs with the roots blower so I was thinking about some aluminum l98s if I can find them.

Yes you can. They make a 142 blower for Vortec heads:

That's the polished version. The plain aluminum one is #6542.

mildly ported 081 heads would work but i'd open them up alot. Stock L98 aluminum heads dont flow all that much more than stock iron heads, they just have a better exhaust. they do respond well to porting which i'd do as well with the blower.
Else you can pickup a set of summit aluminum heads which are made by trickflow, 175cc runners for about 900 bucks. they will be great for a 305.

Re: What heads for SC?
Get ones with bigger chambers for use with a blower. L98 iron are good.
