building a 6-71 350, what do I need to know
I`m starting from scratch with an `83 camaro. I know I`ll need forged pistons, crank, 4-bolt main. I need more specifics, like carb/cam selection, valve timing, compression, squish clearance, rod length, etc. I`m already planning on upgrading the rearend, etc. Thanks for any help

a simple search would yield you all the information you need. also recommend picking up the book Street Supercharging from Barnes and Noble or Borders or something.

My setup was a budget setup just to see what it would do.. It was in a '67 Camaro..
350 SBC (3.75" stroke, 383ci) , 4 bolt block
CompCams 284 Nitrous HP cam
5.565" 400 rods w/ARP rod bolts
SCAT crank
SpeedPro forged pistons ~ 8:1 CR
Dart Iron Eagle 215cc heads
6-71 blower rebuilt by Hampton Blowers running 9# boost
Dual Holley 650DP carbs modified by me
If I were to budget it all over again, I'd do the same thing except run Eagle 4340 5.565" rods, Eagle crank and JE pistons. The car ran freakin great. Cam worked great for my setup also.
here is a video of it pulling out of my driveway:
