Turbo kit or supercharger kit?

I am looking for either a twin turbo kit. Or a supercharger kit the takes over the TPI intake manifold. It would be for a 1991 Pontiac Trans AM 305 TPI. Any ideas where I could buy a complete kit of either of those.

well i am under the impression that no one makes a complete turbo kit for these cars but one can be fabricated and i would go with turbos over a s/c any day besides how many times can you see a s/c american muscle car befor you throw up

So then I guess I'm going with the Twin Turbo design. I don't know much about fabbing stuff. I'd rather just purchase the complete kit. So anyone willing?

if you want the least fabrication buy a s/c kit.

Much as I hate to say this, if you need to ask then a Supercharger probably isn't for you.

To really get the most from it, you need to do your homework, upgrade your fuel system upgrade your exhaust system THEN put a blower on. I'd probably have some way of adjusting the ECM even though a lot of kits do come with an FMU/ECM upgrade option.

Considering the average price of a blower or a turbo system and what it could potentially do to your engine, you really need to do your homework.

I know a twin turbo would be alot more affective than a s/c kit. But I'm just looking for a kit that is already made for my car. Because I really don't have the time to fabricate a kit right now. I just need something that I can pretty much install without having to do some major fabricating. Because the car is my daily driver. Although even if it does take away the streetability. I still have ways of getting stickers so that doesn't matter to me. But I do know what I'm getting myself into. A really big price tag and alot of installing.

a really big price tag.... thats an understatement
i would say if you plan on making any noticable hp with what ever forced induction method you choose i mean anything above 350-400hp you need to look at your car long and hard find and eliminate all body rot and so on invest in every type of frame stiffeners you can find and high end springs and struts
then start looking for a better tranny as your 700r4 wont hold up to long then you will need a better way to secure you tranny as the stock crossmember wont like all the torque and a new rear axle with numericaly higher gears 3.23s at least then you should start trying to lower your CR because we all know 5-6psi is good for now but in 3 weeks you will want 9-10 or more... then can your fuel system flow enough? to support that much? so new pump new injectors if you keep FI

then you can start looking for a forced induction system based on your goals in terms of horsepower, driveablity, and RELIABILITY....
if this is a daily driver it wont stand a chance makine 500 hp and being driven every day with out some significant upgrades all around...
This is my personal opinion i would go with turbos as they seem to be the most friendly in relation to tunning and daily use...now a S/C might be easyer to install but it is there all the time where as a turbo wont be making boost all the time...

He wont need to lower the CR to run 9-10psi, or even 12 for that matter if the engine is otherwise stock.

well i suppose not if you had a fool proof way of detecting knock so those cast pistons can survive in a daily driver

Go turbo if you can, hi power on low boost but if you want the easy way out go procharger!

My car is a daily driver... when I drive it. I've put a fair bit of miles on it running 14psi now and havent had a problem with it. On the stock bolt in stuff from Vortech sans the fuel pump (already have a TTA pump), I was running 12psi and wasnt getting any knock issues. The previous owner of the engine also abused the hell out of it for much longer than I have with the same SC kit I'm using (Vortech) so the motor is doing fine. When it blows up, I'll post about it. Still has the factory head gaskets, that'll probably be the first thing to let go.

EDIT: *Your results may vary*

But is anyone selling a full T/C kit for a 305 TPI. I need something to tear out my transmission here soon because I hate automatic transmissions. I like the feeling of having FULL control over my vehicle. (No shift kits. A clutch and a shift **** that goes into 6 different gears and reverse works for me) So any ideas?

I don't want a fourth gen. I like the body styles of the 3rd gen. Although I would like the interior of a fourth gen fabricated into my 3rd gen is that is even at all possible. Everyone around here has a 4th generation trans am or firebird. I like being unique by having the only black trans am gta around town. Although its tougher not being tailed by police all the time when I drive.
