Horsepower #'s for Twin Turbo 383?

well i should be putting my 383engine in my car in a couple weeks and a have the twin turbo's installed. I was curious how much horsepower i will be able to crank out. Here is the list of stuff:

383 block, completely studded all around
Forged Dish Top Pistons w/ 8.0:1 CR
Forged Eagle Rods
Forged Eagle Crank
Comp Cams custom Roller Turbo cam XT262H (.580" lift)
Crank 1.6 Roller Rockers
AFR Eliminator 195cc heads with 75cc
Victor JR. Polished Intake
Demon 850cfm blow through carb
(2) GTS Turbos w/ Comp. housing A/R.60 Turbine A/R.63
Internal Wastegates at 14 PSI
1200CFM FMIC
Full MSD Ignition with Timing/Retard
100 Octane

This is going to be my weekend warrior and would like to get AT LEAST 600HP at the crank. Oh yeah, i also have NOS setup on it also with purge which would probably be just for show

Just curious if anyone has a similar setup and what numbers they making. thanks for any info

Sweet setup, any pics? At 14psi, I'll guess 750hp.

It is hard to say without knowing the size of those GTS turbos. Are they T3 or T4 size? If they are T3 then you are going to be spinning them hard to get to 750HP. T4s would be good though. I don't see how anyone guessed at HP without a compressor map and T-series size. It sounds like a well built engine that can withstand some HP.

EDIT: The comp. housing A/R doesn't mean much. Do you know what size the comp. inducer wheel is and what the trim size is?

where did the turbo mani's come from?
im lookin at a set exactly like that, but they are from SSAC so i am debating just buying some shorty headers and welded on some flanges

my brother bought the manifolds from a friend over in Sacramento who does custom fabrication. We then had them sent out to get chrome plated. I believe it cost around $350-$400 to have it all done. The flanges and tubing are thick to avoid any warping

how much boost you going to run that will matter to.

The engine is built for revs. The compressors look like T4 so I am guessing 57 trim from the specs you posted. The turbines look like T3 and .63 A/R from the data you listed. I am guessing you are going to use good mufflers like Hooker's or Dynomax with single 4" or dual 3" exhaust. A good cool air intake.
With the headers, intake, heads, cam (good cam choice), and FMIC it is going to be quick.

I guess around 800 FWHP at 14 PSI of boost. That is a good combo of parts there. The only thing I might think of changing later on is going to T4 turbines. That thing should spool quick and make very good HP. You picked good parts.

The T3 turbine is going to be the choke point on that setup. Its small for big HP numbers. I would say you should see 650-700crank HP without too much problems though. Should be a good street setup and not have much lag.

Bigger turbos like a pair of T66's would be a better setup and would easily make 1000hp with your combo. I have a 400 cube mopar with a pair of T66's and it hit 1200hp. I should have used T70's.

yeah these turbos aren't the biggest out there but its something for now. If its around 700HP that would be great with me. I would build the suspension, structure, and maybe tranny up first before i upgrade to bigger turbos.

What trans are you using?

I don't think there is an automatic overdrive that will stand up to the torque of a TT small block. I would go with a TH400 for reliability, and a mild gear in the back, like a 3.23. a 700hp turbo motor will have a TON of torque and a mild shift point. Most turbo setups like a mild gear because they have so much torque.

Right now i have a built 700r4 with a 3500 stall and 3.73 gears. The tranny shifts strong right now and had no problems with my last 383 which had 475HP/525TQ. I would like get a beefed up TH400 and a transbrake, but i like the overdrive the 700r4 has

The input shaft is weak on TH700's with biig power, plus the OD unit is not that strong. If you have no traction is will last for a bit, but as soon as you start getting it to hook...

What rearend do you have? Nothing stock will survive that...

Lol, scary enough it is the stock rear end 10 bolt. All i done was upgraded the 28 spline axles and got the Zexel Torsen diff. and the rear end girdle. That is why i havent snapped anything is because i get no traction at all. I will take it easy once i get the engine in and work on the suspension and rear end. I most likely would get it backed by a TH400, HD driveline, and either a Moser 12 bolt or the bolt in Ford 9"
