intake for forced induction???
alright heres the deal.im building a new engine a 3.4 out of a 4thgen for my 89 rs.
its gonna be a stock block, crower crankshaft, eagle H-beam rods,j.e forged pistions 8.5-1 cr a t-70 or t76 turbo.now only iron heads came on the rwd motors.im swaping to gen 3 fwd aluminum splayed valve heads(they flow around 40 cfm better stock them my fully ported iron heads and have 28cc chambers compared to the iron heads 50cc chambers).the problem lies in those heads take a diff lower manifold, with no provision for a distributor, even if u machine the hole for the dizzy,it wont clear the plenum or one of the rear runners.i could swap to dis but that would require an ecm swap and a new harness, which i dont want to do,also because i would have to buy all new msd stuff.Building the new manifold isnt the hard part.i have all the machinary and tools i could ever need to do it.
but ive never done a manifold for a forced induction engine before.so im unsure of what volume plenum/runers and lenght of runners to make.would a short runner manifold be better then a longer runner, large or small plenum etc?
and help with this would greatly be appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
