turbo patriot manifolds

I saw these Patriot headers and was wondering if they would make decent twin turbo manifolds? flipped upside down or something with turbo and wastegate flanges welded on... The look relatively small already. Im not sure on their exact dimensions, but what do you guys think?

wow for the price of those goto EBAY and get some vette headers and fli pem upside down. make a crossover and run a single turbo...

as for twins I think they would still set the turbos two high. Unless you plan to run no hood.

JEGS said that those Patriots are 6" from the top of the flange to the bottom of the collector, and 4.5" from the flange outwards to the bend of the tubes. Wow, those corvette headers are really cheap. But the only ones Ive seen have the smog tubes. Do you just cut off the tubes or are there headers without those? Also, what year headers am I looking for exactly?

you're going to be fabbing up all kinds of custom exhaust plumbing to do this and you're worried about some AIR tubes that can be cut off and welded on what will be the underside of the headers...hmmm....

Mike is right.. Air tubes are the simplest part to remove if your worried about em. cut em off and weld the holes shut. Simple as that. If your wondering how to do that then how do you plan to fab up the rest?

OK, it was a simple question. The reason I posted is because I didnt know. I realize that welding AIR tubes is a very minor detail, I was simply asking if those were the right headers. Why am I getting so much flak for this??? I also understand that I have nowhere near the experience and knowledge of others here, I'm not questioning that. If someone asks an easy question that they dont already know the answer to, why give them crap for it???

i wasn't giving you crap sir, i was merely pointing out that it's a small detail. don't sweat the small stuff when you got more important things to take care of first, like how your gonna get the driveside bank to hook the the passenger side, or if going twins, how you'll route the down pipe on the drivers side so it won't boil the brake fluid. it's like building a show car and focusing on the lugnuts...the only reason people gave you crap was cause you blew up at me for stating the obvious that everyone was already thinking.

Im sorry I blew up like that. I guess i just didnt get what you were saying. But I know that is a minor thing compared to the rest of the project. I was just wondering if those were even the correct manifolds. Anyways what years exactly am I looking for in the corvette manifolds?

One more question, These are from an 91 corvette, but they look completely different from the pics above. Will these still work?

Yeah, I know. Sorry about that earlier. Does anyone know how long it is from the collector to the top of the flange on the corvette headers?

Sorry No I dont. I can measue it but I know you cnt put twins on top of em and expect the hood to close.

As mine is now You can use a stock hood.

Those are the same exact headers, someone just went and painted the heat shields.

And yes, they will fit under the hood with a set of T3’s on them but it’s tight under a firebird hood. You can actually get some extra room by cutting up and modifying the collectors.

Your yearly message from a moderator - the unrelated CE Coating posts have been moved to the aftermarket vendor review forum at https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/afte...-coatings.html. This power adder forum isn't the proper place for it. You guys have all been good at staying on topic, and not needing moderator involvement, and I'd like to keep it that way. It's enough work keeping the Z28tt from breaking more drivetrain parts!

So the cheapest route for the exhaust would be to get stock vette manifolds and turn them upside down?

not necessarily...depends on the kind of fabrication you want to do...every type of system has it's easy/cheap parts and it's not so easy/cheap parts.
