my quest for 300 hp
i have a 91 rs stock 350 and 700r4 and i was wandering if 300 hp is an easy number considering that i can only get a cam and intak carb/throttle body(havent decided yet) and wich would be better carb or tbi i could also get a tune but i really need to know if this is a fair number.

Depends on where the 300hp is measured. The '91 350 already made 245hp to the crank, so with a good cam, intake, and tune, you should easily get 300hp to the crank. Whether you go carb or tbi is up to you and what you would rather tune.

Well you can't say that the 350 made 245hp because no rs came factory with a 350. So technically you could have anywhere from 145 to 250 hp from a factory 350 motor. But yes cam, intake, slight head work, and tuning can get you 300 hp, even if you choose carb, tbi, tpi, etc.

for you , I would go carbed . Just for the fact it will be cheaper. But if you have emmissions I would keep the TBI .

Expect that number to drop to 185/290 installed with all the L03 garbage exhaust, air cleaner, too small injectors, etc, on it.
The stock heads will let you make 300 FWHP pretty easily.
The stock cam won't.
Replace the exhaust system from the head ports all the way back and you are getting somewhere.

do you already have all the essentials?
-headers and good y-pipe (something like the hooker 2055's)
-good high flowing 3" catback
-high flow cat or test pipe
-good flowing intake manifold and better air filter assembly (some sort of dual snorkel or something)
