what about getting a GP on their turbo manifolds Just an idea.

ya. LT1 ports are D ports. Vortecs are .1" higher if at all.

Ok someone email them and see if the T60, T72 and/or T76's will bolt up to the turbo tech vortec truck header they make, the vortec port difference is on the intake side, if the T72 will bolt up i'll buy one when my insurance money gets here and post the results.

I already thought of this about a year ago. I called and talked to George and traded thoughts with him. He said it might work but its going to be tight with a cross over tube and who knows about hood clearance? Strut tower clearance?
The T76 will bolt up to it.
Id say give it a shot but the manifold is around $700. You may have to have the crossover inlet tube on the manifold cut and rewelded in a different position but a lot of the work would be done for you.

That price isn't bad....
I don't see why it wouldn't clear the hood, by the pic on their web site, it's not exactly a long tube set up. Damn, the tubes are so short, it looks like those darn log-manifolds that came with the motor.

Well still waiting on ins. co. but as soon as possible i'll order it and see what its gonna take, I say dont count on it with a/c, i've already got the a/c delete stuff for mine, hope it works

Heh im going to be buying the march brackets for my LT1 since the alternator is about where an L98 a/c delete bracket, i was actually referring to the firewall box.

Oh, shiOt! You can buy a delete thing for the firewall? I still have all my stuff there, sans compressor/lines. I was just going to rip the housing off eventually, and just rivet a piece of black steel there. Where would I find a delete package?

I found mine in a local u pull it junkyard for a whopping $40 bux, that included the small heater box to replace that huge thing on the firewall, the inner dash vents with the control to it, thats all you need, sometimes www.thirdgenresource.com has them, you may want to check out march for a setup that will get the accessories off the high pass. side if you're serious about this as i am, the setup for my LT1 is gonna be about $600, better all be worth it when im done, oh well gotta finish dynamatting the entire inside of the car soon that stuff takes a lotta time.

Yeah, I'll try looking for one at a junkyard when I'm in Milwaukee in a few weeks.... it's so great that it's actually warm enough up here to go to the junkyards still. Anyway, there's a problem with the LT1 setup, and that is that it doesn't come with a water pump pulley. Obviously you could still use the old one if they're the same widths, but that's a lot of money for all that, and then just ending up with the same old rusty pulley on the water pump. I think what I am going to do is find a way to just route the belt around the powersteering, alternator, crank, and water pump. Of course, I don't know how while retaining my serpentine setup, but I'm sure I'll figure it out.

EDIT: I just checked out your website... you don't have a thirdgen, do ya? Do you think everything will still be basically the same between a thirdgen setup if I were to make one, and a fourthgen for you?

LOL i do have a 3rd gen, i've been building an 86 Z28 for a while now, obviously you didnt hit page 4 of my site, you'll the pics of the car after being smashed by a ford explorer, the reason the LT1 kit dont come with a water pump pulley is that it has a cam driven water pump, i actually meant for you to look at the regular march sbc kits for one that would put the accessories on the drivers side and/or drivers side and low pass. side, im thinking maybe the turbo can be mounted sideways putting the exhaust facing the pass. side and then make a 90* down with it, then the inake will go over to the drivers side like a GN, that just might allow for keeping the a/c on yours, and me not having to swap to march accessories.

Ack dont look like that would clear a TPI, have to keep looking...... here we go, get the power steering bracket and pump, and a/c bracket and pump from a 85-87 serpentine/ v belt car, the a/c and ps were v belt and the water pump and alt were serp, then just get a low pass side mount alternator, problems solved

Yeah many places have the non-ac boxes...I got mine from camaro heaven....Saves a ton of room...BUT mine from camaro heaven looked like a piece of fing craaaaapp...I mean if the thing were on my car id have thrown it away.I felt like calling them and asking if I could have gotten some air box with my order of rust.Even the blower motor looked bad...I had to completely strip the thing...Sandblast it and repaint it...Then GM discontinued the seals so I had to fab a seal for it...The STOCK controls will control it....As long as you dont mind that your dash says AC when its not really there..I love mine because you can easily change the spark plugs and its much cleaner looking..I actually thought about making a mold of it when I got it done...BUT I did not see an interest in me producing any of them...I still may make myself a fiberglass one just for the light weight.

Kenwood, if you made one, I would definitely purchase one from you. That'd make my bay look so much cleaner. Otherwise, if that's the case with all the A/C delete cars, going to the junkyard isn't going to be much fun....

hey tas.. on that dual exhaust page thing you have, site 3 which you have listed as not being true dual exhaust, is true dual exhaust.. the title of the page even says it..
although in some of the photos it dosen't look like it.. in the first one you can see it though..

As for the pages I linked to, just because they think they have "true" dual exaust, doesn't mean they do. I described their sites and rated their sites by my standards.

All right guys,
Since winter break is coming, and it's a month long, I've assembled a small team of my buddies to get this project started. So, hopefully the week after x-mas I should be ordering the manifold.... I wanna get this started. Quick Q though... I have a MAF system and don't want to change to speed density. How can I get this to work. Should I just plumb the MAF before the throttle body like normal and work on PROM issues later, or should I just grab an ECM from another car?

Ya know, that is what I thought. But I've been looking at pics of turbo/tt TPI cars and all of them seem to be lacking the MAF, and I was sure not all of them could be speed density. That clears up a lot.
