procharger?novi2000?3.8turbo?

if you look in my sig there's my mods a hella lot of work and am tired of n/a cars(it's really starting to get there now but if my heart isn't in it why bother).the question i have is i know it's stupid to start over and i'm really considering just switching to a g body(gn)haven't made up my mind yet!but if i was gonna do a new project what would be recommended a novi2000 or a procharger(both intercooled on a 3rd gen iroc),keep in mind it will be a mild 350 under lots of boost,a 700 with a vigillante converter and a 3.45 9bolt,or would the 3.8 turbo be a better option, the gn's look mean but the interior looks like a grand pappy mobile and they handle and brake like crap!!!!reason i'm switching the camaro has a special place in my heart and when i cut out the fog light area it's a perfect size for an intercooler as well as it's just meaner looking and a more simpler-if that's a word!(no pop up lights, headlight buffer, vss, etc.)as with the gn it strikes fear into many a vette, mustang and fbody owner!!!i need serious info and advice as this will probably be my last project for a while and will be with me for many many many years.all you moderators that are good at what you do and are not here for any reason other than the sheer infatuation of automobiles thanx for the advice in the past, present and future!!!keep the knowledge flowing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think the brakes on a GN are very good they can hold several (3000) rpm at a power brake and can stop very well. The handling can be upgraded but honestly it takes alot to get one to move like an iroc. You ever hear of Ron's Custom Auto?

g-bodies can pull 1G if set up. There are kits by BAER for brakes and Hotchkis has lots of handleing stuff for them. I'm looking into getting another '79 Monte to replace the one I had for my first car.

I'm thinking get a Regal, swap power plants, sell the regal to get your money back and tweak the turbo plant. Have a poor mans sleeper TTA. Great handling & braking and blow past guys that just can't figure out why you're blowing by them, sucking the paint off of their car, and they can't even hear your engine.

anybody knows where someone could get the 3.8 conversion done on the west coast?? NJ is a little far to get an engine swap but the 3.8 are so cool. Or even better, the Pacific Northwest?

do it yourself.i believe the harness is still available as is the ecm.thhe motor mounts you can either get from a junk yard or use 4th gen mounts thhey came wth the 3800 motor from the factory.I've heard with the stock heads the buick gnn motor hits the ac/heater box so you gotta chhange to the front wheel drive Le sabre heads iif you dont change the pistons the new heads will yeild roughly 9 to 1 compression use a thicker gasket to bring it back down

I'd do the 3.8.The swap is fairly easy but it is hard to find the parts if you want it done nice.

The TTA harness is still avalable from Caspers electronics for around $600.The TTA motor mounts were unique to the car and are discontinued, but I've heard the GN lower and rubber mounts will work together in a f-car(I'll find out early next week as I slip my motor in for the first time).

Take your time and try to take pics or look over a TTA,it helps give you an idea of how it should be.

HTH,
Steve
