I currently have a 1985 IROC-Z with the 5.0L with a few mods - AFPR, self-ported plenum, K&Ns, Flowmaster muffler, no catalytic converter, and all the free stuff. Currently running 15.3@89 (really proud of that. ) Anyway, I'm interested in adding nitrous at some point, and was kinda curious as to what you did internally to your engine (if anything). Also, what brand and kit did you go with? Thanks

sounds to me like youre running some pretty nice numbers so far. congrats. for the kit- l used Nitrous Oxide Systems (NOS) #5151, as for my modifications internally, there are none. the only mods I really have on the motor, is a pair of siamesed runners, and a dynomax exhaust system. for the nitrous system I ran the 100 HP jets and wanted to see what the 150 HP jets would do. so I slipped them in and I'm too happy with them to take them out. I know very well that the instructions inform you to run the 150 shot on the 350 TPI only. but I figure the only thing the 350's got on us is different (not nessecarely better) injectors, bigger displacement, and a different computer. the bottom end is basically the same although the block is a little smaller I think. my cars got over 70,000 miles on it, its tuned and fluids are changed very frequently, as far as the ignition system, and fuel system, theyre both bone stock, though l've got an MSD box mounted. I just can't find the right harness. I'd reccomend for the use of nitrous make sure your fuel and ignition system are up to par, get guages, (fuel and nitrous pressure), and dont use it under 2,500 RPMs if youre gonna use the 150 shot, just to be safe. it makes tons of power and youll be really happy with it. either way you decide to go, weather it be 100 or 150 hp shot youll like it a lot the kit cost me about 500 and to fill the bottle completely runs me about $40 which is a rip off, but l gotta find a gas company that sells it by bulk. I get about 6 runs out of the bottle before its time to refill it.

have fun, and good luck

Thanks for the info. Do you have any times before and after the nitrous?
