Nitrous with ZZ4 motor

l've got a ZZ4 motor in my 87 camaro, its got a 750 demon carb, now l know the ZZ4 comes with forged aluminum pistons (hypereutectics) is it safe to run any amount of nitrous through the ZZ4? has anyone ever done it successfully? any info or details would be greatly appreciated

hypereutectics are not the same as forged aluminum. Forged aluminum is much stronger. I would not recommend anything over 150hp shot on hypereutectics.

Yes, forged pistons can handle more. However, I'm sure that the ZZ4 comes with Hypers. You should be fine with a 100 shot. Just dont run it lean.

ZZ4's don't have forged pistons. They have a forged crank, but the pistons are hyperutectics.

ok thanks, so the hypers should handle about 100-150 HP worth of juice, or is it best just to leave it at around 100?

well the pistons are designed for NA applicatons on the ZZ4 so I would do 100-150 shot. No big deal. it will hold up if you have it set up right.

if you want to go hardcore, pull the motor apart, use nitrous pistons, better rod bolts, and o-ring/reciever the block and heads

then strap the BIG shot on
