please answer..don't leave me hangin
think its possible to have a 450-500 hp super charged tpi 350 that gets 18 mpg or better(hwy). hopefully better than that. a better question being would it pass emissions in IL? or period.
Super charged people with 4-600hp what do you use for a rear end? 9 or 12 bolt. how does it hook up on street if at all....

Well, since nobody has answered yet I'll chime in about my '94 LT-1 Vette. I had a well built motor with a stock cam and stock computer with a Vortech V1 S-trim at 12 psi. It made 500Hp on pump gas and got 26 mpg in sixth gear on the freeway. It passed emissions with no trouble even with the CATs completely gutted. There's quite a difference in manifold and head design between TPI and LT-1 so it's going to be a heck of a lot harder for you to make the same Hp. But with the proper mods you can easily get there and more.

Yes. I've gotten 24 mpg from the Z28tt during the drive from MA to NC. Granted, it's turbos, but the supercharger shouldn't be much worse. It's an stock L98 with the T56 in sixth gear and a Super Ram intake. Best trap speed was 114 at 5psi, so its somewhere around 450 hp I think. Fuel economy shouldn't change much if you can keep your foot out of it.
Rear ends - if you'll be drag racing, the 9 bolt/10 bolt will eventually break and you'll need to upgrade to a 9" or 12 bolt. With the stock torque arm, it would spin through 1st and second. With the much shorter Herb Adams torque arm, I actually get traction now. Run drag radials or Kumhos if you always want traction

My goal from the very beginning was to have a 12-second emissions-legal, daily-driven 305.
Not only have I met my goal, but my best is a 12.04 @ 116+ mph. I was getting over 19 mpg in town until I installed a 3800 flash stall torque converter. Today, I get about 17 mpg.
Here in Arizona, I have to go through a yearly emissions check which includes a visual inspection and a tailpipe sniffer (at idle and load). I can post my results of the sniffer test if requested.

ok great now i know it's possible.
mini ram? TPIS hmmm i haven't gotten good news abou them in a while. AFR heads sound good. ummm where can i get info on afr. About how much compression would be needed before i added about 9psi of boost? 12 bolts are an arm and a leg but i'll look anyone know where to get either a 12bolt or 9 inch.
