DFI, only made by Accel?
I don't know if this is the proper board to post this, but I see more talk of DFI here than anywhere else. I have a DFI computer for my car, but it does not say Accel anywhere on it, only "Digital Fuel Injection" electronic control module, with a picture of an injector spraying to the left of the words. The add. for them is 4344 Fenton rd. Hartland, MI 48029 I have sent a letter to them but have not heard back. I have put it in my 91 Camaro and the car will run fine, but it idles high. I have Accel Calmap software and when I try to make an adjustment, I get an ECHO MISMATCH at the top of the screen. Can anyone give me any ideas of what exactly I have? I am wondering if it is another brand and is not working with the software I have.Thank you.

sounds to me like you only have the controller and not the full DFI programmable systeml. page or email GMI FAST. he works at a certified dealer for DFI and he could help you out.
BTW, DFI is only made by Accel. but there are other systems like it like speedpro,motec,electromotive and others.

If I remember my ancient history correctly, DFI was an independant company to start out. They sold their own products & licenced the name out too. They licensed it for a while to Blower Drive service. You could get a BDSDFI kit. Then DFI sold out lock, stock & barrel to Accel. Now they have sole rights to use the trademaked name "DFI". If you have an original unit it is several years old (probably from the mid to late '80s). I'm sure the new sotware will not work with it. To tune it you will likely need to find the original software for the version of DFI you have. Good luck. You might try BDS & see if they can help.

He is correct. Digital Fuel Injection was purchased by Accel/Mr.Gasket some time ago. Your unit is basically the same as the Version 6.0 in my car. Most Accel/EMIC tuning shops in California can help you out. Your "echo" problem can be fixed. Don't worry. Try Fast Track Performance, JG Engine Dynamics, Duttweiler, or post a message for local help at www.unlimited-racing.com. Those guys can hook you up. Good luck!
