where to put "go fast" button...

Allright. I have an arming switch in the roof that has a cover. And I am not wondering where to install the switch that activates the spray. Where do you guys have yours? pics? And do you like it where you put it?

I am an OK fabricator and don't mind even the craziest ideas. Hope you guys post some cool stuff. Thx.

ps-do you guys think the best place to purge is over the windshield out the cowl? (just a side Q)

My nitrous system switch is in my fog light switch.

Once that is on, the purge switch is in the defroster switch

And the on switch for the nitrous is on the pedal under neath the dash( I used a turbo 400 kickdown switch)

And my purge is right at the edge of the hood, almost sprays the windshield.

Wow, Thanks for the great detailed reply.

LB9GTA...you seem to know how to set up well.

Any suggestions as a good place for a manual tranny set up? I have the arming switch set, now I need an idea for the purge and the firing switch. I have no ideas.

how bout having an arming switch somewhere in the car, i don't know where exactly but my idea would be maybe to have a switch built into the shifter,....like maybe if you press down on the shift **** to purge it, after the arming switch has been turned on

yeah, I have allways liked the "button on shifter" idea, but I think in reality it wouldn't look too good. I am hoping for a more stealthy install of that switch. The arming switch is not hidden.

I would like to hid the purge and the spray. Hard part is that I want them to look integrated and stealth, but not so hidden that they are hard to use.

I was thinkin' maybe just to the shifter for the purge maybe. small button.

And the spray button maybe not on the shifter but on the shifter stick, just above the leather boot. So if you are a car person you would see it, but the average joe wouldn't.

Thats the kinda thing I want.

Good ideas/bad ideas??????

purge...cause i think while shifting your hand might get caught or something and slow down... now, for spray id suggest like maybe the horn button or something or a button on the back of the steering wheel...or maybe if you have tilt steering....

oh wow. Yeah I do have tilt steering. I really like the idea about the purge. I just mighthave to use that idea. I might be able to put a button on the end of that little shaft that the tilt uses. Not sure how good it will look though. I might just end up putting a button right on the center console. kinda boring, but it will work. I def hope I think of something cooler though.

i was thinking of im assuming you are the only one who drives your car...and well if you don't need to use the tilt steering just bolt it down in the spot you drive at and have the actual switch or lever when you pull it be the purge or spray...

Another great idea. I am the only one who drives it, or will be driving it. But I need the tilt for then I get in and out. I am skinny, but it is just to hard to squeeze over the roll bar and under the wheel. My Tenzo seats really push my legs up. Seem like maybe the wheel buttin might be the best/safest thing. With both hands on the wheel.

would be sick, but i dought i could make that look good with my simple tools. I think i am just gonna toss a little red button to the left of the radio. Mounted in the trim. I have long arms, so it falls in the right spot for me to just be able to reach it when i am strapped in the 5 points. Thx again for all the ideas

no prob..... then again you could always get an aftermarket steeringwheel with either the volume buttons or just the 2 red buttons on the thumbs install and there you go...

I thought about that, but i allready have my wheel. And the buttons on the wheels scream N20. i want it to be invisible to the average person. that is why I think the E-brake button would be great as a purge when the arming switch is on.

I'm not a juicer, but I think it would be trick to have your spray button on the floor next to the clutch pedal. That way you'd be able to stomp it with your left foot unless you were on the brakes or the clutch (both cases you shouldn't be spraying anyways). Both hands would still be free to shift or steer while spraying. Just somehow make it REAL obvious when the system is armed (illuminated switch?) and have a WOT micro switch so you don't spray by accident.

Just a thought...

Switch? I usually use an arming switch and a WOT switch on the throttle linkage. If it’s armed and I go WOT I get spray, if not then I don’t. With a progressive controller (what I used in one of my cars) you don’t even feel the N2O come in, it just feels like there is a much bigger engine behind that throttle pedal when the system was armed.

Oh, exelent. I never thought of that. That seems like a great idea. I would still like the spray to be user operated. Though if I was racing all the time with it, I would def go with your route Crossfire.

Thanks for all the replies guys.

I use a WOT throttle switch as well, and it IS user operated (with my right foot). I have it set so that the gas petal has to be all the to the floor with firm pressure. Having a "button" inside the car is just one more thing to do and think about when racing.

My arming switch is really trick. My car didn't come with fog lamps so I just had a delete cover on my dash. I went to the junk yard and got a factory fog lamp switch and installed in my dash in the factory location. It looks 100% factory, yet it actually arms my No2 system.

How about inside the cigarrette lighter...? Disconnect the lighter circuit of course and then you could maybe mount the button in the back of the hole and gut the heating element so it doesnt press the button when its in... that would be completely unnoticeable/invisible and no one would ever think to look there...

What do ya think?

Great idea. Unfortunatly my interior is too far moded. I do not have a cig lighter anymore. For a more stock set up that would be a great idea.

That would be an easy way freebird... ive seen a few like that

Also to elaborate on my previous idea you could even make the "lighter" part of the cigarette lighter the button itself...
The heating element i mean could trigger the button in the hole when depressed instead of getting hot

Just throwin out ideas.

Ok heres another crazy idea... You know in the padded armrest you have in the center console... Howabout a wide flat button that is in the leading edge of the armrest underneath the 'pleather' material?

It would be right where your fingers rest when holding onto the armrest and within easy reach if your arms are'nt too long...

Also invisible to the naked eye...

Maybe you could post some interior pics so we can see what your working with dennis

BTW the car looks like its coming along beautifully, and on a side note how are the lambo doors working?

This was a build-in-prgress pic from ages ago, but you can see my old arming switch on the console. I also had 2 LEDs mounted in the hole where the radio used to be. Orange for when it was armed, and a red one for while it was juicing. It was activated via a micro switch and its really to only safe way to do it IMO.

Purge was activated by a small button mounted under the dash.

Only pic i have of teh old N2O set-up

And mounted bottle

At least I dont have to reverse through the drive-thoughs here, to place my order.

N2O wasnt making my fast enough on stock internals. Had to clear it out for the turbo. I didnt really want both and the $$$ i got for the kit paided for the new fuel pump and cell that have taken the place of the bottle.

Here's where I had mine. It's really convenient when you're at the stoplight and you need your bottle to get across the intersection faster for no reason, no reason at all...

Arming, purge, bottle opener in that order.
