Where to mount the blow off valve

For now Im running a MAF on my turbo setup. Where should the BOV be mounted... before or after the MAF?

If I let the BOV into the atmosphere wouldnt it need to be before the MAF before the air gets measured... and if I plumb the blown air back into the intake it would be mounted after the MAF... Am I on track with this thinking? Any preferrred method?

With a MAF system you run the BOV after the MAF....then the discharged air back into the inlet tube before the MAF..

Pretty much any other way will cause problems...

Having messed with this before the best advice I could give is DITCH the MAF ASAP... that system on mine was a PITFA to set up and worked no where near as good as it did when I could blow off to the atmosphere..

huh? you want it all to happen before you meter the air. so if you have your maf before the compressor you just route the air back to the inlet of the blower no problem. same amount of metered air in the system

if the maf is before the throttlebody but, after the compressor then you can vent the extra since the maf never metered it yet so it has no way of knowing

Yup... Your rght..went back and looked at a pic of mine...It went from discharge tubing to the elbow right after the compressor..

Rusty memory on my part..

But still scrap the MAF... the strupidest part of the system was the fact that you needed reducer couplings to plumb the puny maf in...my car ran much better map..

I hear you on the MAF. This is phase 1 of my project. Im new to power adders so Im taking it slow and only plan to run about 6# initially... then Ill get into intercoolers, ditching the MAf, etc

So to make sure about the BOV placement... I can put it here in this current setup? (circled in red) I went with a Tial... damn the thing is huge!
