doing single turbo need help
i am having a single turbo kit fabricated for my firebird. Im basically starting all over i am going in a new direction. Here is what i will be starting with 87 firebird 383 block t70 single turbo
turbo 350 trans i will be reusing my holley stealth ram. my questions are what compression would u recommend 8to1, 8.5 to 1 which heads and cam, what size injectors, what size stall.
in will be running 3.73 gears in it. i am completely new to turbos so i have no idea what they like and dont like so if yall would give some ideas i would be happy. i want to build a setup that i will have room to grow with.

You can do 500 hp on a stock L98 If you only want 500 hp, and will not be tempted to turn up the boost EVER, then I'd say run 9.5:1, and leave your boost at 8 psi. 15 psi I'd build it at high 8's...

I personally wouldn't go any lower than 9.5 compression. I'm sure it's different for a V8, but anything less and it'd be a dog out of boost. Besides, any forged 9.5 compression piston should be able to hold more boost than you'll ever need anyway. My stock pistons are 9.5 and I'm running right around 15 psi with over 170,000 miles.

I wouldnt do anything above 9.0
Right now I run 7.8:1 with 30 psi on race gas and a 50 shot of juice on my stock block 2.0l 4 banger
The problem with running high compression and turbo is that its going to be hard to tune and will be a bitch on pump gas on a hot day, better use a knock control Its all about being safe!!!!
8.5 is like using a condom and 9.5 is like pulling out ..
