backfire through the carb

backfire through the carb

I finally got to drive my car after breaking in the motor the other day after install of procharger and new motor .I was going down the road brought it up to about half throttle through first gear and POP a back fire through the carb scared the he!! out of me what could have cause the problem base timing is at 10 w/MSD dist ,MSD 6al ,MSD btm set at 2 . I do want to get the motor dyno tuned but I would like to get it somewhat close before i take it there ($175 hour) thank you for any info

I agree. I'm having the same problem w/ my FI motor. Lean pop.
