how big of turbo do i need?

Sorry for asking this but i searched and found nothing. How big of turbo do i need to make roughly 600 hp on a 383? is a T66 big enough, or t78. again i know nothing about turbos other than than the very basics so any info would be greatly appreciated.

The 66 should be enough as long as were talking crankshaft hp, I was making about 650 at the crank last year with a TE64-1 before I ran out of fuel. Looking for around 700 this year with larger injectors, at that point I think I'd be at or real close to the limits of the turbo.

That said, I think a 78 would be overkill for a 600hp motor. Even if you wanted to go a little big I wouldnt go larger than a 70 which has been making 850hp in the Buick TSM classes.

HTH,
Steve
