What is water/alcohol injection?

Car: 1989 TTA #1240
Engine: 3.8 SFI turbo
Transmission: 2004r
Axle/Gears: 3.27
It involves spraying a fine mist of either h2o,alcohol or n20 to keep detonation at bay on boosted or high compression n/a applications. I don't have one yet, but Xylene is $ compared to alcohol. So Once I get a larger dp and tune the chip some more I beleive alcohol is in the future plans........
