I know he sold a set on ebay... but that was months ago so theres no way to find the auction page. I remember reading that someone on this board bought a set only to find they didn't work on third gens. Anyone know the price for them? Also.. what did he make them out of... mild steel or something more expensive?

Reason I ask is pretty simple. I know there is a pretty nice market for turbo headers/manifolds that will work on a wide variety of SBC equipped cars... especially third gens. I have mechanical skills, and I have a nice chunk of money in the bank to cover the small startup cost. So I'm considering making some simple headers in my spare time to sell on ebay or where ever. It would be a nice do it yourself part time job... especially if I could make a profit of $200+ per set, which I think is realistic.

I figure I can just get a cracked block for nothing and some junk heads to throw on a stand for fitment testing. Buy the raw materials (pre-made flanges of course) then cut and fit them togather and have a local welding shop weld them up for me. The plan in my head is to have the turbos placed in the same area that the Gale Banks manifolds have them as it seems to work well.

Anyway... its just an idea I'm exploring at the moment. Any feedback is appreciated.

 

Why dont you try emailing him instead of asking us? He would be able to tell you better than anyone here.
