First track times w/NOS

1.0059 Reaction Time
2.1374 60ft
5.8550 330ft
8.9164 1/8th
82.65mph 1/8th
11.5395 1000ft
93.41mph 1000ft
13.6191 1/4
106.33mph 1/4

Feedback Please!

This is the best run of four. The guy I bought this car from said it ran a 14.9. That was before the NOS and full exhaust.

I want 10s! How do I get there from here?

Its a long trip. Just curious, why 10's and not 11's or 9's?

hate to spoil the dream but 12 would be next in line below 13, not 10.

dont shoot for some unrealistic dream. at least unrealistic in the short future...

get some slicks, put in 110octane, and put in the jets that equal 300hp

you *might* come close......if you dont break anything

A friend's car was running 11.5 in the 1/4 on the motor then he put it on the bottle... he's running mid to low 10's now with brand new Hoosier Quicktime pros. Beat a Mustang that was showing off his 10.xx time slips hehe the guy was pissed LOL

Cartman, I can't figure out what that post was trying to convey. That you know some dude that has a fast car? Don't we all?

I also second that get into the 12s first statement. There is a big big difference in power from a 13.62 to a 12.99 let alone to 10.99. Go with some sticky tires and anything to help get the nitrous out. Cam, 1.6 rollers on the exhaust, no cat, etc. Good luck

Dont forget the saftey issues with going 10's...roll bar, saftey blanket, etc...

Yeah, I would be happy with a mid 11. 10 would be sweet, but an 11 would be nice. I have stock heads so that will be my next purchase. I should se 12s with that. I'm also going to put forged pistons in it at the same time, and also direct port my NOS and canvert to wet set up. Then if I jet it for 200 I should be able to hit 11s.

well you no you can start off by fixing that reaction time **** get that down to .590 or better and you could almost run 13 flat. almost not quite
but you never mentioned How much Nitrous your running.. you might be able to up that alittle with out ripping apart the motor and drop to 12.99.

and i agree 10's with a almost stock motor? lol cant see that happen. plus not to mention the fact that your going to need to do somthin about the body of the car. f-bodies in my opionion are poorly made. mine runs 12.8 and i got to realine my doors after racing. and i broke my damn torqion bar that comes up from the rear end. thats just somthin to think about.. my goal is 11's and i dont have nitrous yet. i plan on getting a NX kit and running it at 150 h/p hopfully to get my times down. with some really good rubber to put that power to the ground.

RT has no effect on ET. Seriously though were you asleep at the light? React off of the last amber and you should be able to run .560 .590 all day. RT does effect who gets to the finish line first. Get some suspension work and get that 60 way down under 2.0 before you think about 140mph passes.

I cant figure out why you are giving the guy a hard time?? Its a good post on the basis of comparison.

Next time you have an opinion, think twice before posting it.

Upon burning a piston on my blower motor i put my dart heads on a 50,000 mile bone stock 350 bottom end with one of my old solid N/A cams to finish the season.
that combo went 12.04 @ 112 and with a 100 shot of juice
10.96 @ 122 - always wanted to say i went tens on a stock bottom end and ive done it.

10s are a little steep. low 12s or high 11s would be nice. Most people here in springfield MO are running 14s so I'm not at all dissapointed with my current run times.

Thanks for all the replies.

i agree, you shouldnt be disappointed at all, we're just telling you to be careful what you set your goal as becuase setting a goal that is unrealistic in the near future may aggravate you...
