Nitrious on my new 377, few questions
I'm building a 377 for my 92 RS, but I want to add a nitrous kit to it. The engine has a brand new 4-bolt main block, brand new (everything is brand new in fact) 4340 forged steel 3.75" stroke crank, Eagle 4340 forged 5.7" H-beam rods, custom made forged JE flat top pistons, Edelbrock Victor Jr. race heads with 70CC chambers, Comp Cams Magnum 230/230 duration .560/.560 lift cam (that's actual lift, not advertised) 110 lobe seperation cam (hydralic roller) and a few other small things.
What can this engine take? I'd like to throw a 300 shot at it but I don't want to wreck anything from too much nitrous. I'd be using a wet type setup and running at least 94 octane fuel, possiably 110 if I can find a better brand then Turbo Blue. Oh the compression ratio is about 10:1.
what's the most you'd throw at this thing?

That thing is going to be a beast. What type of intake are you using? Are you doing a direct port injection setup? I would say 250 would be fine on you're setup. just make sure It gets plenty of fuel. With 94 ocaine, you will have to retard you're timing a LOT.
Or...you could just keep changing jets up till it pops. Then you will know you're limit.

yup
I'm planning on using a plate system. The intake is a Victor Jr. and the carb is a Speed Demon 750 double squirter I plan on using a timing retard box (MSD makes on I think) so whenever the nitrous on the timing retards itself, so that when the nitrous is off I have optimal N/A power. Sound right?
I don't want to blow this engine, between all the extra parts and machine work I'm at about $8000 :lala:
