Which one do u think is better
As My LT1 swap is almost complete, i am looking into getting a supercharger for the old maro.Well, i was looking into a few and wanted your advice on which was better. I have been looking into vortech, procharger, and a few more. What do u think is the best bacg for the buck charger that i can produce some big numbers hp wise and still be a daily driver? THe reason that i say that the LT1 is almost complete is because i am installing the LT4 conversion because i will be able to get 425+ hp with that, I ordered it so now i am just waiting until it comes. but any help with the charger will help. thanks

Dont LT-1 have high compression? I know somone with a ATI On their LT-1 and it had bad knock problems under boost because of heat. He added headers and got a cam with more Lobe separation angle, 108 instead of 114 and that mostly cured it, but his boost dropped off. He runs like 9 Lbs of boost I think, tweaks it up for the track though. He was running 14 Lbs before though, but it nearly detonated itself apart. it was stock back then, with a chip.

i would go with the procharger. i have one, and love it. i would definetly say intercooled. 14 pounds of boost on a stock motor may have been the reason that there was a knock problem on that camaro. especially if it was not intercooled.

Good luck just bolting up a supercharger kit, the LT1 f body kits wont fit in our chassis due to the steering box.
Options:
1. Use impala SS supercharger kit, there is 1 by powerdyne :-/ and i think vortech makes a kit now.
2. Swap to PA racing tubular K member and rack/pinion steering, will allow use of LT1 f car kits.
3. Swap to the Vette LT1 accessories and use a vette blower kit.
As far as someone running 14 psi on a stock longblock LT1, he must have been out of his mind, or at least knew he was pushing limits, and going to better flowing top end is going to decrease boost with the same pulley due to better air flow since its less of a restriction.

yeah it was at its lowest setting and the lowest was 14 psi because of all the restrictions.... but a cam swap fixed it... going to 108. i called him a few days ago he wrecked his car :-(
he got a eclipse turbo now, its just as fast... oh well.

A buddy of mine did it with a 'vette ATI setup. He had problems with the ducting, but the brackets and everything else fit fine. He also had 'vette accesories (I'm assuming that you do to or have removed/modified yours, since the to my knowledge the 'vette setup is the only one that will fit in a 3rd gen complete), and a ZF 6 speed out of that same 'vette
