Non 3rdgen related turbo question

Thought this might be a good place to start looking after having searched on Google and nothing came up, yet. Friend of mine would like to put a turbo on his 97 Chevy 4x4 for pulling heavy loads. (pulls lots of cars and a 5th wheel) Do any of you know a site or a company that has a wide selection of turbo kits? I'm thinking he'll have to probably get a custom setup done. Thanks for any info.

I dont think there is a kit made for that application. I think he can get a Procharger for it. In my opinion, Prochargers arent good for a towing app due to the fact that most people expect to tow at low rpm's, which centrifugal blowers dont provide much boost at low engine speeds. Now if he/she installs a looser torque converter or is willing to DOWNSHIFT in order to raise the engine speed, then a centrifugal blower work in that situation...

a P1-SC-H is a good truck and 4x4 blower due to the lower RPM boost levels acheivable with its H (helical) option. it is recommended for applications where the engine is smaller, the max boost level is lower, or when the compression of the engine is higher.

Thanks, I'll have to try and talk him into getting one of those instead of doing a custom turbo setup hehe.. What threw him off in the first place was the 2500 dollar price tag on a system he had seen for superchargers.
