nitrous on ZZ4

Does anyone know how much nitrous power the ZZ4 engine can hold? It does have a forged crank, but the pistons are silicon coated aluminum. I'd like to spray maybe a 125 shot. Should I just throw in some forged pistons and go with a bigger shot, or could those al. pistons hold that shot? Any thoughts?

sounds good to me and safe too for like 100 to 200 hp shots

If you take all the safety precautions (window switch, good ignition, good plugs, good fuel pump) 125 is fine. But I would not go much higher.

125 shouldn't be a problem as long as you don't go lean.

ZZ4 on Nitrous

The ZZ4 is a pretty tough motor but 125hp shot should be good. Persoanlly I think that a 150hp shot could work well with the proper engine support i.e FUEL PUMP)

When pushing that much HP a MSD 6AL or Equivlent Ignition would be recommended.

Re: nitrous on ZZ4

stirring up an old thread here i know, but did you ever put the 125 shot through the zz4? i'm looking into it too, i tore my fast burn zz4 down this winter and freshened it up a bit... i replaced the rings with the speed pro plazma molly rings just incase i decided to run nitrous... also i have an msd 6A not the 6AL as mentioned above, will that be a problem?

I sold my car a few years ago but I did run a 125hp Zex dry system system with a Walbro 255lph fuel pump, Ford Motorsport injectors (it's been a few years I can't remember exactly what lbs rating was), MSD window switch, NOS fuel pressure safety switch, Accell high output coil, one step colder plugs, and a custom PROM, .

I never used more than the 50hp jetting because of traction issues (and that was mostly just for testing and to get a good looking dyno sheet but I felt like it would have been fin at 125hp.

Re: nitrous on ZZ4

Nothing to worry about at all.
Just make sure it dont run lean and you will completely fine.
100hp shot easy, should be fine at 150 really, again, just make sure
it dont run lean and it should be fine.
MAke sure your fuel pump is ok, have you a fuel pressure guage?
