ok on superchargersonline.com it says that 24lb injectors are required for the P-1SC H.O. Supercharger Kit did anyone else put these in when you got this supercharger how much did they cost and do u need anything else to make the set up work ?

no idea if they're necessary, but you could run some LT1 injectors someone is getting rid of cheap...

I called into ATI awhile back asking them about a D-1SC on a stock L98 with 22 lbs injectors. They told me I should look into getting 24 lbs or maybe even 30 lbs and a custom prom so I don't pour the fuel in like crazy. I asked them if I could just "steal" some 24 lbs injectors off an LT1. My tech Jeremy said that LT1 stock injectors have a problem about developing clogs in them. Then I started to think about running a SuperFueler system. I mean you don't need to use the FMU from ATI, so no high fuel pressure. The system is from http://www.carrollsupercharging.com/ Anyways the system mounts 3 30# injectors (can be used with other sizes though) on the intake like a wet nos plate behind the throttle body. Then it has a custom computer that controls the fuel that goes in so you can adjust it to counter the boost. There's a .pdf file on their website that talks about installation, design, theory behind the system and all kinds of other neat stuff. I think it retails for around $735 if I remeber the post right.

That system sounds a little rediculous. For $220, you can have SVO 24# injectors, which are acually underrated. They flow 24# at 36.5 psi. Then, for another $200 or so, you can get the stuff to burn your own proms, which will greatley benefit ya in the long run.

....SVO 24# injectors.... They flow 24# at 36.5 psi.

Ford rates their injectors at 39 psig.

There lies a problem here. On MAF cars, the airflow maxes out at 255 g/s. It will flow more air, but the ECM does not recognize this. On SD cars, the VE tables do not account for positive pressure (boost). So when in boost, the ECM does not see this either. Once 255 g/s or positive pressure occurs (depending on the system), the ECM cannot add more fuel (because it does not see more air). This is where a very lean condition can occur, depending on the amount of boost. This is the point where the Superfueler takes over. It recognizes boost and you can calibrate the amount of additional fuel injected by its three injectors. This is the beauty of this system.

Because I have a MAF system, I chose the Superfueler. The only other true alternative is to go with the Sy/Ty speed density system, which is a factory supercharged system that uses a 3-bar MAP.

Back to the original question,

The reason that ATI recommends using other injectors besides the stock GM unit's, is the "GM injectors tend to lock up under highfuel pressure conditions. "

I purchased a set of 24# injectors (accels) from Jegs for about $230 bucks. my injectors were original and have never been cleaned, so i that's why i opted for the new ones, so far the car runs great with the new accel's and the stock ecm and chip. woohoo!!

The design of the stock LT1 injectors is actually more resistant to fouling then the pintle style injectors.

I don't know what the FMU ratio that that setup uses is but LT1 injectors do have a problem with pressures over 80psi, so if you're for example, running more then 10 psi boost with an 8:1 fmu you could end up having problems.

I like the ford 24#'s and the FMU that comes in the kit, it gets the job done no problem.
