Pics of new ZQ8's on the 'Vert
My 17" ZR1 wheels did not work out so I picked up a set of S-10 ZQ8 wheels from a guy on Craigslist. They were still brand new in the boxes with all the lugs and caps. I also had a set of matching 245/55/16 tires mounted on the front wheels and re-used my rears since they only had 100 miles on them. Needless to say I think it sets it off perfectly.
Some engine pics as well. All stock and not too bad for 124K miles.

Those look really nice!!! I think that they would look even better if the face of the wheel was polished to match the chrome center caps... Think about it!!

I've been in love with hose wheels since I saw them on some other guy's car here. They look PERFECTwith our cars...
Verts dont have lines quite as graceful as hardtops, though, so I dont think they look quite as amazing as they would on a hardtop car... The hatch/roofline of our cars has a very graceful swoop to it that works well with these wheels.
But they definitely look awesome on your car man.
I'd buy me a set, they're $500 new on ebay, but I dont want to spend $500 on wheels and not be able to fit 'vette calipers in 'em or even fit wider tires on them. The function over form side of me wins out on those, but MAN do they look good. If I wasnt intent on autocrossing my car I'd be getting them.
I keep trying to bargain with people that have them locally. But no one has bitten yet.

Re: Pics of new ZQ8's on the 'Vert
Thanks for all the compliments guys. Yes, they are 16's. Since they are all the same offset the rear wheels are not as tucked in as factory wheels but look good none the less. In order to mount them on a thirgen you must grind out about 1/16th of an inch of aluminum around to the hub hole. The S10's hubs are a little smaller but not by much. A die grinder, a $5 carbide grinding bit from Harbor Freight, and about 10mins per wheel is all it took.
I think one reason they look so good is they look as if they could be a modern day IROC wheel. I love the lines of the convertibles and I will be hanging on to this one for awhile.
Hey Stephen. The TTA is still at Tim's shop. Last I heard it was in the bay awaiting engine removal. Tim has had a lot of problems with the brakes on his Nova race car so it put my car behind till now. It probably wont be done till the end of May or beginning of June. If I can I will make it out to one of the breakfast meets this summer.

Re: Pics of new ZQ8's on the 'Vert
Sorry about that. The ZR1's did not work out and I actually sold them tonight. They were okay with the 2" spacers but I felt it left too much tire exposed passed the ground effects. There is a lot construction going on around here and I could see the first bit of gravel I ran over would kick rocks up on my doors and fender. Plus I know the ride quality would suffer some with the 17's. I picked up the ZQ8's for $25 more than what I sold the ZR1's for so all in all it is almost a wash.

I wish someone made a firebird center cap to go on those. I would put them on my bird in a minute if someone did.

I don't see why you couldn't get a Pontiac center cap emblem & use some adhevise to put it on. Note sure how the overall diameter would match, but you could trim it down if needed or always get a sign shop to custom make some vinyl "emblems". Super simple.

Wow, that looks good, I've only seen the s-10 xtreme wheels on a thirdgen before. It's close enough to the original style, that it looks like it could have come factory that way.

Yea... new design.. ie.... the 1st design. was pre 2001
and looked more like the 1991/1992 camaro wheel
2nd design was 2001 to 2004 when the stopped making the
S10 Pick up.
I have a set of the 2nd design ZQ8's on a 2003 S10 Blazer Xtreme
