Outstanding street/strip combo from my 78 Trans Am with less than 4000 miles since brand new. If you put this combo into anything lighter than my 3900lb Trans Am, you will be well into the 11s. A simple online calculator shows that a car weighing 3500 lbs would be able to run an 11.7 quarter mile with this drivetrain combo. This is EVERYTHING you'd need to drop the engine in and drive to the track! Everything in red is included.

78 2 Bolt block, .030 (462 inch) over, ARP main and head studs
Scat Nodular Iron crank (new)
7/16" bolt rods with ARP wavelock pro bolts
Speedpro forged 10.2:1 pistons
Hellfire "double moly" rings (file fit)
Rotating assembly internally balanced

781 heads, professionally ported, 2.19/1.88 valves, flowed 296 cfm
Stainless valves

Crane hydraulic roller cam-- 236/242 duration @.050, 296/304 adv. duration. .610/.632 lift
Crane dual springs (recommended by crane for the cam)
10* locks/retainers
Viton seals

Weiand X-CELerator intake, port matched to heads
Holley 850 cfm double pumper
Crane HI-6 Ignition module
Moroso oil pan/ melling high volume pump

Also included:

TH400 trans with TransGo shift kit, custom built 3500 stall with antiballoon plate, fully TIG welded and furnace brazed

Driveshaft for TH400

Heddman Hustler 1-7/8" primary headers, 3" collectors

Trans Am 4 core radiator and hoses,
3rd gen electric fan and relay

Also, if desired, the centerline auto drags with 28x10.5 ET Drags will be included.

The engine was totally assembled by Stephen Hall of Hall Brothers Racing, in Sweeny, TX. The Hall brothers both race IHRA stock classes, and have done very well, winning more than one first and second place overall season. In my 3900 lb Trans Am, I ran a 12.1 @ 111 quarter mile with a 7.78 eighth mile at 89 mph. A few weeks later I had the car on a chassis dyno, where it only made 324 rwhp. I knew something was wrong, as I fully expected 420 PLUS rear wheel hp. I got the car home that night and pulled the torque converter, took it to the guy that built it, and he cut it open to find out the it had totally ballooned. He rebuilt it, this time with a different type of shell, and an antiballoon plate. I took it back to the track two weeks later, but was only able to run 1/8 mile. I ran a 7.67 1/8 at 92 mph and burnt the rear posi track clutches up in the process (you can see it clearly lurch one way and smoking one tire on the video). The converter definitely helped, its just too bad about the posi unit! The engine has a total of about 4000 miles on it, all headache free. I drive the car to the track, change the tires, run low 12s (which knocking .11 off the 1/8 should have put me in the 11s!!!) and drive it back home. I'm asking $5500 obo for EVERYTHING listed above, ready to drop in your car and go run 11s (assuming your car weighs less than my 3900 lb pig!) with a perfectly streetable combination.

The engine still makes great oil pressure from idle on up and does not leak or burn any oil. I am selling the driveline combo to back half my car so I can put the power from my new turbo motor to the pavement. Feel free to ask any questions, I have plenty of videos of the car running and idling.
