how fast could i go with my 305?

hi i was wounderin how much hp could i get out of my 305? becuz im kinda joinin a race team with this kid that has a 11's mustang. and i talked to him and he thinks we could get my car into 13's posably 12's , im goin to try sum thing for like high 11's. but i have a list of parts and stuff im goin to get over time. and like a few things are a crane cams roller cam and everything else like roller lifters, rocker, ..etc. and ill be changin my intake and carb. and im goin to be addin a 125 shot of Nos. and then ill likely upgrade the rear end later this year after i go to the e-town swap meet. but like what does anyone think. like i could provide more info. but i think im writing too much right now so im goin to quit, but like anyones help is great so thanx.

i am gunnign for 12's n/a with mine and keep it a drive anywhere motor. whether or not the car is drive anywhere is turning into a matter for debate, i don't mind it at all, so i drive it
there was a guy with a 305 runnign 9's with a blower adn i am sure there are some fast nitrous cars otu there.

305=Fast, Cheap

You only need three things: Nitrous, Slicks, Stall...Look at my setup at www.motorsport-depot.com and you will see

yea you do need all of this but a big cam well also get you alot of horses 270 280 292 it depends on the torque converter you put on it. i have the same 305 with the q-jet and have but headers and a cam in it and i only shooting for high13's or low 14's but thats because i don't what to use nos but i'm sure the mustang is. most cars that run 11's either have a bigger engine or nos and thats ok. but i would go with a new intake aftermarket carb holley or edelbrock. comp or crane cam 270 - 292, with the cam you have to get a new torque converter it depends on the cam the 270 is the biggest one you can use with stock converter thats what i went with but a new converter would always help. nos system any of them is good nos is nos!!! slicks so that you can get a good hook up. headers and make sure you can run strait headers or have cutouts. cut outs if you use it for daily drivein and this should get you into the 12's at least 11's high 11's maybe. good luck!!!

I should be spraying high 12's this year. Track opens April 6th I'll let you know what happens. Same set up as in sig, but add TES headers, 3.42 posi, a set of ET streets (insteed of BFG's), a 150 shot, and a lot of suspension work.

my friends mustang is all motor. he has the nos but doesnt want to use it. like he has stuff wired but no plate and no bottle in the car. and he showed me his time slip and his best time was like 11.78 i think so im pretty close to that. but he has a 351 alum heads , cam ,open headers, slicks all the fun stuff. his worst time was 15 sumthing. he broke sumthing i for get what but it was in the back of the car and just killed his 1/8 time.
