front springs

i want to put in new springs on the front of my 85 z-28. i have recently installed a 94 lt-1 and removed air and heat and interior. this car will be autocrossed. i think i saw some where that the factory springs are 160 lbs and 1le springs are 350lbs. does anyone know if this is right and what have you put into your car? thanks les

you may wanna give sam at www.stranoparts.com a call or email. he knows how to set these cars up very well. he can tell you all the spring rates and alignments.

The front springs are no where near 160lbs, the rear ones are. The fronts are at least 450lbs.

An autocrossed car will need more spring than anything out of the factory, so you will have to go aftermarket. The spring rate will be at least 600, maybe higher.

My ride: 750lb front springs, 150lb rear.
