Would drag radials hold up ok???
I am about to install a new transmission with a little higher than stock (2000-2200) converter. I was just wondering if anyone thinks I will have a problem hooking up with the BFG 255/16 DRs.
Thanks for the opinions.

Hi again 3504mula,
Seems like I'm talking to you a lot lately. I have that exact same BFG DR on my 89 383 IROC, and they hook great. I've got a 2600 stall Vigilante. Once I heat the tires up in the burnout box, I get ZERO spin when I launch (from 2000 rpm). I find they hook better if I heat them up (even though BFG says not to). I run between 20 - 22# air pressure. I think that any suspension mods that you may have will also help a good bit with hook up also (I've got a full Spohn setup).
They are a little tricky in the rain, but they should be good for about 7500 or so street miles. I have 315 35 17 BFG DRs on my ZR-1, and they have at least 7500 miles on them, and a bunch of 1/4 mile passes, and they still have some good tread. Hope this helps.

I run a rebuilt 700r4 with a SLP converter that stalls at 2k RPMs +/-. I also run BFG Drag Radials 255/50/16s and the car hooks to the tune of 1.76 with a few easy bolt on suspension pieces....
