Serious question open to all

I will soon be puchasing a 1996 Z28 with the LT1, T-56 combo. I have had a LT1 auto and ran 13.9 with K&N FIPK and Dynomax muffler. How do think the Camaro will do with these?

SLP Air Foil
SLP Cold Air Induction
SLP Dual Out Muffler
Hypertech Power Programmer

My other LT1 was a 1994 Trans Am GT Single Cat, auto 275 Stock
This one has the dual cat setup 285 Stock

Don't the manual 4th gens come with lower gears, so that should improve the ET a little. Plus your mods. And your sig, they made a TA GT?

My friend had a 1996 TA M6 that started out running 14.9s (bad fuel pump and needed a tuneup). He replaced the fuel pump, added a 58MM TB, Granetelli MAF, K&N CAI package, TPIS aluminum drive shaft, and 4.10 gears and went a best of 13.6 on street tires. He could run 13.7 - 13.8 in just about any kind of heat/humidity conditions. The hardest part is getting the shifting right with the T56. The 2/3 shift is easily missed.

Sparks a flyin'

Oh yeah, he did have the HPP3 (I hear LT1EDIT is a better program if you want more hands on programming capability). IMHO the airfoil is really worthless a performance mod. If you ever upgrade the TB, it'll be incorporated in it anyways.

Yep, In 1994 all T/A's came with a lower spoiler the GT came with the upgraded spoiler, that spoiler became stock on the 1995.

with good hook and clean power shifts you can see as low as the 13.4 or 13.5 range. with average hook(hey it's a stick car) i woudl look to be in the 13.7's at about 101mph.

later

well i think you have the right idea about what priorities are. but dont pay the extra for the SLP stuff. go with the K&N kit or moroso kit for intake, and get a full cat back. stock it was 2.5" or 2.75". cat backs are 3". also, i would agree with the quote about LT1 edit. i have Heard the HPP is useless on a M6. dont forget to get the skip-shift eliminator. i just dont have the extra cash for it, but if you live in a big city, its a must when your shifting at lights. its soo damn annoying. also, although the dual cat setup is good, the replacement headers for them are different. there are a few companies that make the headers for the 93-94 with the hookups for the dual cats. i would also recomend a shifter. although no where near as bad as the third gen ones, the stock one isnt exactly high-performance.
just my .02

I think you mean the Firebird GT, that is a V6 car done by SLP. The SLP Trans Am or Formula is known as the FireHawk .
