accusump to engine connection
I'm contemplating my accusump installation and have a question regarding how to tie it into the 305 motor of an 88 IROC. As I understand it, most people are tieing it in to a remote oil filter housing, likely due to them also running an aftermarket oil cooler. I'm hoping to keep the stock oil filter location and stock oil cooler (KC4 I believe). Could I just add an oil filter sandwich adapter between the oil cooler and the block and tie into that? Would also put in an oil pressure warning light to the other port on the sandwich adapter.
Also, anyone know if these motors have an extra threaded port into the oil passages on the block somewhere?

You'll have to crawl under the car and look. Most chev engines have a port beside or above the oil filter housing. 3/8 NPT or maybe 1/2" NPT fitting. You just need a single filtered oil port preferably before going into the main oil galleries.

Re: accusump to engine connection
I looked for an oil port and couldn't see one. The oil input sandwich adapters likely won't work either. Canton has some but they won't work with the kc4 oil cooler I suspect. The universal one which could mount between oil filter and kc4 has a gasket/seal which is too small. The SBC specific version is supposed to mount to the block and would require the kc4 to be below it....maybe could add some flex lines to the coolant lines which run to the kc4.
