So It's Been 2 Years...
Since i raced my car. Taken a back seat to the rest of life, and unfortunately hasn't made a big move forward since then. Been busy with work, a relationship, etc etc, grown folk sh*t .
Front motor plate (good luck on the mid for those that give it a shot ), as the last time I had the car out it sheared a mounting ear off the block. Probably from how hard it came down from the wheelie,
possibly from just the way the motor torques, was repaired before but didn't think trying to weld on that cast iron again would be any more than a temp fix. (pix tomorrow)
And to finish my exhaust, by finish i mean true duals with mufflers, been running open headers for as long as I can remember, and maybe i'm just getting old but I'm over the extremely loud car thing
They fabbed up a new X-member for me and routed the dual 3.5" exhaust all the way to the rear axle where a pair of 3.5" dynomax ultra flows try to muffle some of all that racket. Will try to get some side shots of ground clearance for you guys tomorrow or the day after (i'm moving tomorrow so hold your horses )
P.S. yes i know about how oiled up my undercarriage is

Second video is set to private
Nice use of exhaust flange clamps. I should do that for my mufflers instead of using 4" strap clamps.

Sorry guys, been super busy with the move
NV, the nice part with trees , same old cell number, you must have lost it
Heading back up to IL or MI by the end of this week...i think. If i'm near you i'll give ya a ring
Donno why it's uploading videos as private by default, fixed now so vid should work. Just a r*cer idle vid of the car with the exhaust done
Thanks for the compliment, moving to NV, i had a job in Mobile AL last week, was driving from Tulsa OK and got a pretty late start. First time in the south south . Anyways, stop in some backwoods phuckin town in the middle of nowhere LA to get some shut eye. Somebody trys to break into my truck the first night i'm down there So much for southern hospitality
Thank you
and thank you.
I guess the x-member option isn't really one if you still mount a torque arm on it, but it's awesome if you have a jegs piece or something similar. Beats cutting and boxing the subframe imo.
Anyways, few more pictures of ground clearance and that motor plate. The lowest spot is right infront of the rear tires because of the extra thickness of the mufflers. No clue how one would get any better clearance without actually cutting into the floor as these things are tucked right up underneath it.

I cut the floor out where the back seat cushions would go and plated that flat. Gains Maybe two inches extra. Also cut the subframes off at the firewall this year for the new headers I built

xpndbl do you have any pictures of the back seat cut out and the metal you put in? I've been thinking of doing this as well.

I did the same rear seat delete in my street GTA many years ago. Tucked a full sized set of hooker max-flows up underneath w/o any issues.

I feel your pain
Mine dump a little bit before the rear tires, but I didn't make the exhaust. They sit pretty much right below the driver/passenger seats, and these are tucked up against the floorpan lol. I'd like to make my own similar to yours.
