going to track for first time, quick question

So I am going to take my brothers 350 89 IROC with mild mods to the strip for the first time to spank my friends CRX which he put over 7gs into.

Question = should I use my 2 season old Auto-X 255 slicks or just stick with street tires. If i use the slicks or street tires should I do a burnout or should I just skip that water. What does doing a burnout do exactly anyways? I thought it only works on drag slicks. Thanks for the info in advance.
Question 2: Is their any programs out their that simulate a tree and see your reaction time? Or ever just see a tree so I can get used to the timming?

No matter what tire you run make sure you warm it up if its a street tire dont go through the watter just do a dry brake stand rfor a little. On street tires tonight i got a 14.766 and i cooked them a little but dont over due it. YOu warm them up so they stick better do a brake stand and then notice how much crap sticks to your tires.
