Racing the mustangs at my local strip? dont understand!HELP!

I usually visit NJ raceway park in Englishtown and havent got to race my camaro yet. I know there are some rules u must follow but im kind of lost. As i went to see last saturday the imports vs Detroit and went to every station and all i got was "we dont have any"(rules and regulations)I do plan on taking my car to the mustangs vs.camaros/firebirds and need to know the rules and regulations to run on the 1/4 mile expecting my car should run in the 13's so please help me. What saftey modification do i have to do to my camaro, in other words what has to be done to your car in order for Englishtown to allow your car to drag race in the 1/4 mile. thanks

For a 13 second car, all you need is a newer helmet. Also make sure your battery hold down is tight, and your radiator catch can works and isnt leaking, etc.

Some tracks also require a safety loop around your driveshaft when you go under 14 seconds or if you use slicks. Englishtown tech's are very professional and will let you know of any problems. Get yourself a rulebook someone posted the web site this past week and E-town sells them for $10.00. E-town requires a helmet for ALL racers.

Having a T-top car and working in tech I've had to research the rules.

T-top cars are considered full body cars (not needing stuff required for convertibles).

Section 1A of ET racing, subsection 7:Body

Full-bodied cars must have full top and windshield.

This means T-tops must be in place to race.

Helmet rules according to NHRA are not required if 14.00 seconds and slower but most tracks require a helmet for insurance reasons. Snell 90 helmets are considered minimum. Snell 85 expire next year. If you need a new helmet, pick up a Snell M2000.

13 second cars require a roll bar and 5 point harness IF they are convertibles. They require a driveshaft loop if running slicks. Street tires are good to 13.00 without a loop.

Other than that, make sure everything is secure and safe. All your wheel studs have nuts, nothing loose in the car etc. If the car is safe for the street, it should pass tech inspection. If you fail a tech inspection, you should be allowed to remedy the problems or be refunded your gate fee to fix it for another day.

Tech isn't there to keep you from racing. They just want you to race safely. Buying a rule book and making sure your car will pass a tech inspection is your responsibility.

Must every piece of the fron light be in the car. I wanted to remove one of the front lights ex.front headlight or front blinker for a ram air effect on my homeade intake. what else MUST be functional on the car.

VORTECFCAR, I only go to union grove but, some people I talk to get way better times at byron. I plan on checking this out because as soon as by car hits the union grove 1/4 I just spin all the way down the track. I go there every year opening day. I have a red 88 formula with t-tops and black gta rims maybe you have seen me. I don't see too many 3rd gens there!
