I had them and they really $ucked on moist roads not to mention in the rain, just NO TRACTION! The rubber was way too hard.
But they are the cheapest around and you can spin you tires to you hearts delight with them!
Since then I bought Yokohamas and very happy with them even in the rain.
Just my $.02
Lots of Luck!

You sure you had the Ultra Zs and not the GTXs? The Ultra Zs have a reputation for being a pretty sticky tire... I've heard of guys cutting 1.9 60 foots on them.

I have Ultra Zs on my '88 5.7 GTA. 245s on front and 255s on back.
I ran the car at Beech Bend in Bowling Green, KY two weeks ago and the best 60 ft time was 2.072 and the worst was 2.101.
Best et was 14.246 and worst 14.361 out of the six "real" runs I made. Best mph was 97.40 and worst was 95.54.
The tires had about 1,250 miles on them at the time and I started them at 24 psi and then down to 18 psi. Best seemed to be about 20 psi. I have a feeling 24-26 may be useful, also.
On the street, I have already pulled 25 mpg with these tires at 32 psi. I filled my tank before the trip (130 mile round trip) and checked the mileage when I got back- overall 16.05 mpg. And at the track (or anywhere actually), I can set them on fire, although I left on the last yellow at slightly above idle for best 60 ft time, without much spin.
You could do a lot worse than these tires and some are better, but the price IS right, overall.
