New UK V8 series inaugural race a success! Incar from my 3rd gen
This is the prelude race to a new UK based road race series for next year called Historic V8 Racers Association. I was going to take my 2nd Gen but was waiting for a rear sway bar to be delivered so took the revamped 3rd gen and had a brilliant race despite some silly problems like oil leaking from the valve cover on one side (now sorted!). Here is some links to my incar video of what was a very exciting race for me in the road class. The other cars that lapped me have had hundreds of thousands of bucks spent on them my car is all steel/glass self built throughout including engine/box/axle etc. The white Cobra I nearly collected on the opening lap for example has been valued in excess of £1000,000 sterling!!!! Some lovely stuff out there though I hope you like my vids.

Good stuff Al. Looks like a blast. What are the rules about mods to the cars?

It did look nice. Keep us posted on the series and post the videos. What camera do you use?

No we dont remove mirrors or we wouldn't be able to see who was behind us, I lost a passengerside mirror a couple of meetings ago and it was not nice trying to guess is someone was sneaking up on the inside of you.
The camera is a cheap Sony flash card camera is extremelly light and available overhere for under a £100 sterling probably same in $ over there. Very pleased with it no trouble with vibration etc.

I bought a crappy $15 minicamera on ebay from china a while back. Took excellent videos, about the size of a cigarette lighter. Didnt include a memory card though.

Look up "MD80" on ebay and you'll see some cheap crappy $10 cameras. That video is what they look like.
Vibration might be a concern, since my head probably dampens all the vibration of my little two stroke bike engine.
Also, Al, why does your hood bounce around so much? Do you use a T5 or a 700r4 in that car?

It has 8 hold downs so wont go anywhere, since I redid the suspension firming it up it is bouncing a bit so just needs a tad of adjustment. Its glass fibre/kevlar so wont get damaged. I am pleased with the Sony and the beauty is unlike the bullet cams you can aslo use it as a still camera and a general purpose video camera, it has a large lens that lets a lot of light in without the fisheye effect and there is the advantage imho of using a standard type camcorder.
