What an ugly season and it hasn't even started yet
I think there as been at least two Friday night street legal days so far this season. The weather hasn't been co-operative and track was still cold so fast cars never go this early in the season.
Our first race of the season last weekend, May 29/30, was canceled due to snow/rain. Our next race is this Saturday night, June 5. This was a rescheduled race and I won't be able to make it due to a previous commitment that night. There's a few other events in the region also happening on that day so the car count might be low. People already made plans before this race was rescheduled to this date.
My next available race is on the father's day weekend. This is an AHRA reunion tour race and will be on both days. It sucks to start the race season near the end of June and it's over near the end of September.
I also found out today that most of our races this year are on Saturday nights only. We only get 3 Sunday races during the 3 AHRA events. I guess on the good side, I won't be sweating in the fire suit in the middle of the afternoon.
By July when the weather gets better, I'll probably do like last year and go out on Friday nights just to get some track time. Although I don't know if I can afford it yet or not but I'd like to make at least 2 road trips this year. One to Edmonton for a Sunday race and another to at least 1 of the 3 AHRA races in Ashcroft BC.

Weather hasn't been in their favor so far. Things here might not be much better. The forecast is calling for rain for another week. That leaves one week after that to dry out. Our Father's day event is always a hit or miss with rain.
I doubt they'll have any precipitation problems in Ashcroft. The place is a high desert.
