air dam removal at the strip??
i know its catching air, or at least i think.
any experiments taking the air dam for the radiator off at the track>?
never thought of taking it off before, maybe pick up a couple hundredths?

Re: air dam removal at the strip??
actually i like to take them off for bracket racing because they catch the beams if you lift/break, and really **** you off lol. i dunno how much it'll help stage, just try it and let us know

beam is 5", i dont know if mine is higher, so it may catch every pass regardless of lift, or brakes.
ill have to measure.

Re: air dam removal at the strip??
I'd highly doubt there to be any benefit. W/o it the air it's pusing up to the rad would just become more disturbed air under the car.
W/o the side spill plates I highly doubt it would trip the beams. Hell, they've had plenty of issues with pro stock bikes and dragster front wheels not tripping the beams.

take a dump and pee before u go down the track and ull loose more weight than taking off the air dam. The plastic ones are barely over 1 lb.

That piece of plastic under the rad has no effect on e.t. Been there, done that. Back to back runs with and without yielded same e.t. and mph on both runs when I had that part on mine.

lol. and perhaps add to that by getting a haircut and a good full body shave?
i agree though, your looking at more gains by removing some other weight thats lying around the car.
rear seats?
spare tire?
jack?

Re: air dam removal at the strip??
its not about weight...
its about air resistance.
c'mon guys
im sorry, but duh...
it might help with the air resistance part, but third gens are already pretty slippery, so it wont help much.
you would be better to look other places IMO

Re: air dam removal at the strip??
yeah, i meant that there are better ways to improve your times. my concern is that removing the air dam will not direct air smoothly and youll just be left with no gains and no cold air for your radiator.
