Pics of sump with exhaust, and something Strange! 12 bolt
Here are some pics, picked up 12 bolt today finally, got it painted and in car.. I have installed 2 Moser 12 bolts in F-Bodies, I have to say Strange was far better IMO.. Palleted and boxed very sturdy, came with everything, no install kits needed, everything lined up perfect, came with 3qts Lucas gear oil, conversion U-Joint, swaybar mounts already welded on, brakes lined up perfect using their billet mounts - needed when using LT1 brakes, stockers will not work. All that and cheaper than moser.
Sump is completed with exhaust installed, fits nicely! Only bad things, I have been using thirdgen aluminum shaft, well U-Joints are different on D/S end between the 2, initially thought they sent me wrong joint then lloked at a 4th gen alum I have and seen they were different. So had to use the bigger shaft, now home made D/S loop does not fit, have to do some mods to clear larger D/S.

Oooo shiney! - Looks good man.
Maybe a heat shield between the muffler and the sump/line to help avoid heat soak into the fuel? - might be a good idea, pics can be decieveing.

Pics are decieving, but muffler is still close, its about an 1.5" away from rear edge of sump and rear edge of muffler, but they V away from one another. I was thinking of putting dyna mat on the sump, may get to hot though and melt glue, I will get something on it.

Another warning to those sumping stock tank, no matter how much you flush out your tank, your summit filter will find what you didn't and leave you stranded 15 miles into the test drive!

Looks great! I had a few questions though:
What muffler is that?
Is that the CE sump?
Do you use one fitting in the sump for the return an one for feed?
Did you consider the Aeromotive sump?
I'm cooking up a 1000hp engine now, and have been working through the fuel system. I'm running a Walbro 340 intank with an Eliminator kicked on with a boost reference hobbs Should be quiet and not heat fuel on 100 mile drives.
Thanks!

Flowmaster 4" in/out, its big! So if mine fits, most will.
Yes its a comp, Just used one for feed and used stock return line to top of tank. Other wise you are pushing against 35 lbs of fuel if you try to return on bottom. As for the Aeromotive, have not even seen it..
As for the filter issues, I was just using a disc filter with very little area, I just bought a larger trickflow unit with canister inside after clogging up the disc again!
I was a Pita, but I would do it again.. However I may have punched the holes instead.. There was no rust in my tank at all, but just using a sump in general picks up alot more debris, everything falls to bottom..
The pump is decently quite, I put some dynamat on inside where bolts come through, I am going to put some rubber under mounts as well, can barely hear it right now..
Last night got window switch wired up, bottle mounted, wired up heater tonight mostly and made a new d/s loop. should be ready to have fun soon.

looks good! and makes me feel a little better about how close my stuff is. mine's a 4" single with a magnaflow muffler and has some fittings welded into the bottom of the tank off to the passenger side corner of the tank...it's really close around where the elbow goes into the muffler, but i'm not really worried about it.

Matt,
You don't even have a sump? How has that worked for you? I've been considering it for 2009 and 2010, I'll do it right and sump it. Most people are saying you need to keep the tank half full at least with just fittings. Any comments? Thanks!

Re: Pics of sump with exhaust, and something Strange! 12 bolt
I was thinking same thing, I tried that on my Camaro 10yrs ago, had alot of fuel starvation unless there was alot in tank as mentioned.. However I put it on driverside which did not help at all.. Ended up welding 1/2 metal line in place of stock pick-up.. Was still using when i sold the car running mid 9s mallory comp 250 pump.. But this time wanted to sump, so far is good with new filter, drove about 20 miles yesterday, will drive some more today and maybe pull filter to check...

Good to see somebody do a 12-bolt instead of the usual 9-inch. I'm thinking two of them may be in my future soon.
