i hope to do the same thing. Theres a guy in greensburg that does a good job for a fairly cheap price. I have no idea how its gonna work tho under the car, i havent gotten that far yet

Jeff at first try had Talin's turbo LS1 done by that guy. It looked well and since LS1 cars are similar back half to ours, maybe you could ask Jeff to get some pics of Talins setup

what you need the sump for? lol

Thanks for replys guys! Orr to answer your Q. The LT1 style cars come with a sealed unit, you have to break open the shell, rig pump to work, then reglue shell back together.. Its really a stupid set-up - I was gonna use the thirdgen tank I still have, but the pick-up mounts different, rest of the tank is the same. I have been using the stock pump (156,000miles) with booster.. I have one of these summit 450gph things thats inline thats going on, instead of me welding in a new pick-up like I did the Camaro, I am going this rt. will be cheaper and better. I will make it work, even if I have to change muffler or dent tank
And I plan to spray it healthily, being I will never be able to afford AFR or Dart 227's, especially after buying the 12 bolt.
I will need the sump because there is a local guy in my area building a TT400 in an 89 IROC, I hear he wants to run me!!
I want to race him for a splitflow muffler he has
Stay tuned, I will have pics soon as I get this underway, rear was pulled last night and exhaust, tank will probably be today.. But have to leave town this wkend..

Haha, who's that?? You want that splitflow just come down and get it

But look on the bright side, that 12 bolt will allow you to actually use that car to its full potential. should be a fun fun setup off the line. See what it can do, you may want a twin disc clutch

Yeah Twin Disc is supposedly the best right now, I have been very happy with my spec 3 thus far... LT1 clutches really suk to buy!!

Re: Anyone have pics of stock tank sumped, in car maybe.

cuz i had nothin better to do

sump is slightly offset twoards the passenger side cuz it was a tight fit between the sump and that upper panhard bar deal, however the outlet i use is pretty dead center as the photos show. Sump is relatively large with 3/4 NPT female outlets , slightly over kill but it's nice knowing i'll never have to do it over if the need is there. -10 line to the pump.

Thanks alot, that was soo weird, looks identical to my Camaro I just sold aside from sump - sway bar, pump, 9" hoosiers, looked like spohn X-Member under... I thought that was it..
Well I just got it tacked on, really over rated my thin metal welding skills, my mig kept burning through.. I was able to beat tank up about an 1" for clearance, there is a plastic baffle in tank that needed removed - not ment to come out through that same hole...

Re: Anyone have pics of stock tank sumped, in car maybe.

So thats how they do it? you just drill those holes in the tank like that then put the sump over it?

Another question, are you keeping the return style fuel system? how do you do that with the sump setup? Do you just run the 6 or 8an return line back to the top of the tank like the stock one does?

I plan to use the stock return line for now, if its becomes to small I will use the stock feed as the return, but I think it will be fine. Gonna get rid of stock pump, extent tube to stock location, and use my aux pump for n20 seperate supply I think with deadhead regulator.. I wanna go 200ish shot eventually..

if you're running a big pump, actually anything over a holley blue would honestly need a 3/8" or 1/2" return line for a carb setup. Especially at idle it will become a big restriction.

He's fuel injected.

WIth the pressure of fuel injection, I take it you can go smaller and still move the same overall amount of fuel.

Re: Anyone have pics of stock tank sumped, in car maybe.

Welll finally got it all welded and painted, just put tank up and mounted fuel pump, due to space restrictions I was able to put an O-ring on end of my filter and screw directly into pump, saved 2 fittings and 2" of space.

be VERY careful when you go to change the filter element, I went through 2 before i finally just bought a better Rayco set up for both flow and filter capabilites. The threads on the Aeromotive filters are sooo frigg'n small and tiny, it does not take but one slight twist not perfectly lined up and it's shot

Thanks, I'll watch the threads... I bought the Summit brand because I am cheap - there is no shame in my game. I think its probably made by Russell looking at theirs..Really don't have room for a huge spin-on thing...

Orr, if you are going to run #10 line, I have lots of brand new line and fittings - I bought them over a year ago, never used and forgot about..
I can save you some money if you want..

Re: Anyone have pics of stock tank sumped, in car maybe.

Poor people use old coolant sensors to plug the other 3/8" npt hole instead of buying the $1.09 pluglol But people who drill lots of holes in their stock tank use pre filters before their summit pump.. Actually was not even going to run a post filter, anyone think thats ok? Or may just run through stock filter being its already in line..

I might have missed something, but why do you drill holes in the tank? What I plan on doing is just cuting out the hole like 1in smaller all the way around and then welding that back in? Is that not right? Im learning as I go..

i made 5 holes in the gas tank like a dice, this way when going around a turn on low fuel all the gas doesn't roll right back out of the sump and starve the pump

That makes sense. Have you tried it with a low tank of gas and going around some bends? Thats my biggest concern because my car is not meant to be a drag only car and i love carving some back road corners too. I dont wanna starve my pump.
