New wheels, Got some Greg Welds for X-Mas

15x3.5 Front and 15x8 Rears with 4.5 BS - same as you would all use on the thirdgens, I have thirdgen rear under. I am using LT1 brakes, had to grind calipers more than I did for draglites.. Like them though, merry christmas to me

Looks great, I have the same wheels.

Just wondering how lite are the 15/3 fronts? My 15/5s were 10 I think.

Those 17x4.5's are sick, I really wanted those - could have used the ground clearance to.. The old wheels I am going to sell, 2 are twisted though - they worked fine on the track, but cruising at 50 made you want to punch the windshield..

Thanks 1320 guy and orr, I am happy with how they look, not sure I like them as much as the Convo's or not, but like them more every time I look..
Lets see yours 1320.. I would guess the fronts are probably 9lbs just like the Draglites were, you would not think he would make a wheel to compete against his old ones and be heavier - but the 1pc is so much easier to deal with.. So you guys give the approval?

stage 20, not much grinding, just some on the corners and top front, but had these been 5.5 offset like a 4th gen would need there would be much more grinding, and don't think LS1 styles would ever fit.. I think there is alot of problems with that right now, guess he GW said they would fit LS1 brakes with no mods, people bought and found they are not even close or will ever be. I read they are supposed to be redesigning, but that was months ago and still nothing.

LS1 calipers/brakes are hard to clear. i run 5.5bs on my 15x8 and with a 5/16" spacer i still had to grind ALOT off the caliper. I think it still touches once the brakes gets very hot but its good enough for the track

So did you have to so any grinding on the front?

I have 15x3.5 Draglites with the stock L98 brakes. If the LT1 brakes are better and fit, I might upgrade.

for the time invested, i dont think an lt1 setup is much of an upgrade. aftermarket or ls1 if i were to do it, but then youre gonna have problems with fitment with most wheels.

If thats the case, I will just add some braided lines and better pads.

The fronts fit with no problems, they also fit LS1 front brakes, there is a vid of it on youtube, there are quite a few on LS1 tech with them on front and prostars on rear.

Re: New wheels, Got some Greg Welds for X-Mas

my problem is im' going with C5 front brakes so no 15" runners for me. Those spoke style on those wheels would match GTO spares very well, but if they dont fit my LS1 rear brakes, i'm in trouble again haha

that spoke style looks great. heck in a 18inch setup that would be great for the street!! Nice drag rim there!

How light are those wheels?, I looking for wheels & thinking about the Centerline Rev or the C-line 5 star, maybe even the Convo Pro

The 15/5 fronts were 10lbs and the 15/10 rears were 13 lbs. Give or take a pound or so its been 8 months since I did that.
